Wednesday - DuckTales Attraction - Pionmycake

New topic - and Happy 4th!

Okay so I will be honest I don't have much familiarity with DuckTales aside from the WS Adventure project - @Pionmycake do you have any suggestions for it?
My first thought would be something simple. Gadgets Go Coaster is outdated based on an old cartoon and doesn't blend too well into Toon Town. Retheme it to Ducktales. Make the queue the Money Bin. The cars are Launchpad's Plane. Add a show scene with the nephews and Scrooge and Webby. Then put it in Tokyo and Cali.

My next thought is Adventureland. Ducktales is all about adventure is mysterious far off places. Scrooge is basically rich Indiana Jones. Not sure exactly what ride system. A simulator as the plane would be easy. Or a dark ride.

The pilot of the new series had them in a submarine looking for Atlantis. So a submarine ride could work as well. Could be put in pretty much any land or park depending on what angle we took with it.

Lastly, there's a lot of scientific and rival inventors and robotics at play. Between Mark Beaks, Gyro, Gizmoduck. There's a lot to play with there for a new innoventions type thing

This is what we should aim for, Gadget's Go Coaster is simple enough to retheme. And it deserves a good retheming, since I guarantee that 99% percent of kids going to Disneyland have no idea who the heck Gadget even is. And thanks to the reboot, kids recognize Ducktales.

Making a theme park ride based on a TV show still on the air is a risky move, since you have no idea how relevant the ride will be when the show ends, but Ducktales has had 2 lives, one that parents grew up on, and one that the kids grew up on, and one may prefer the other, so this simple overlay can cater to both of those crowds.

Not only that, but Scrooge and the nephews are classic Disney characters even without the show. So, even if the show isn't relevant the characters are.

Moana might be a perfect fit to blend into WDWs Adventureland...i just don't know if it has the same staying power as something like Frozen. The suits seem to be geared towards that, which I think is silly, but it is the way things work
Moana is basically the only relevant Disney IP that could work in Adventureland, it made nearly 645 million dollars, over 4 times it's budget. Although if it weren't for Universal, I'd say Black Panther may work.

What I mean by staying power is what Disney can make into franchises that are relevant for decade plus. If you look at their recent projects, Star Wars, Incredibles, Toy Story, Cars Land, Guardians of the Galaxy, Marvel, Avatar, even Tron, all stuff that has multiple films to its franchise or future films planned.

Moana would be good as an overlay or small attraction, but to anchor an entire expansion, that may be why an Adventureland expansion really hasn't been talked about much

Today's the day we design an attraction for DIsney Springs! It's time to share an idea I've had in my head for a while

Okay, so Disney Springs should get a McDonald's, but with a purchase of every meal they get a chance to go on a ride, a suspended dark ride similar to Peter Pan, except pirate ships are replaced with Happy Meal boxes. And you fly through McDonald's history wile you eat your meal! What do you think?

If the attraction was a walk-through then I might be on board...promotes exercise after eating McDs;)

So besides my idea for a McDonald's ride, are there any other ideas for attractions for Disney Springs?
Since there's a rich old-Floridian theme to the Springs, especially the new areas, one expansion idea I had would be to theme it after Floridian Boardwalks such as the one at Daytona Beach

Have it protrude into the lagoon a bit, and maybe have a classic wooden coaster, carousel, and games as part of the Springs.

That could work, and is more thematically appropriate than a McDonald's attraction.

Today's the day we do something with the old Wonders of Life Pavilion at EPCOT, And GO!
I understand people's issues with it, but I'd vote for the Wakandan Scientific Outreach Center rumor that was going around a bit ago. Get some Black Panther in there without actually using black panther and breaking the contract. Could work as a great updated version of innoventions.

Other than that, a robotics pavilion has always interested me. But I don't really have any ideas for it other than a Big Hero 6 attraction.
