I guess I'll take everyone's word that it will be a clone of DCA's attraction. But I don't understand the reason behind giving it a different name. Virtually every other cloned attraction has the same name as the original. And this seems to go against the idea of "Disney Parks" branding and homogenization, where marketing gurus have realized that it's cheaper to name attractions the same so that they can sell the same merchandise at both WDW and DLR. Toy Story Midway Mania being a perfect example of this.
But maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

The WDW version will be much more of an overall experience than the ride off the San Francisco street in DCA, but the ride itself will be a clone.

I meant that there have been no changes to our version of the ride (meaning shortened, effects tossed out). I didn't mean the exterior but obviously it's different.

Im glad its going to have its own name, we need some new originality like that if the annual report was correct, it may have not been.
So Im guessing they are going to build two of everything for the ride sets, animatronics etc at the same time?

but anyway, some ariel merch is already starting to come out, i noticed yesterday a new ariel music box type thing next to the one for peter pans flight, she was sitting in a clam shell.

OK, that makes sense to me now. I forgot that it will also be incorporating the current Ariel's Grotto M&G. Thanks for clearing that up.

As someone pointed out in the thread about the new D23 article, the working name of the attraction is now "Under the Sea: Journey of the Little Mermaid." I'm fine with the "Under the Sea" part, but I'm not sure why they chose something for the second part of the name that's so similar to "Voyage of the Little Mermaid," and which also smacks of "Journey into Narnia."
Couldn't it have been "Under the Sea: Ariel's Adventure"? Or do they think guests won't understand that the attraction features a physical transition without a word like "voyage" or "journey" in the name?

It included a M&G and a rather extensive queue.
I thought TLM was themed as an aquarium near San Francisco.

The TLM building is near San Francisco Street, but the attraction officially resides in Paradise Pier. Regarding the facade, it's modeled after a historic building in a Venice pier.. so i'm guessing it's a blend of that and an aquarium.
From the Blue Sky Cellar:
TLM at DCA is also supposed to have a water playground/Mermaid Grotto area, don't know if there will be a meet and greet in there.

Ah, I see. I've been told the queue differences will be similar to DCA's Toy Story Midway Mania vs. DHS'. That's good news for us on the east coast.

I like the first one because it doesn't just leave the huge Golden Dreams arch (I know the name, but it's on the tip of my tongue) plain- it tries to incorporate it and create a landmark out of it.
Either way though WDW has it good with Prince Eric's castle. The castle blended with the rockwork looks flippinamazin.
