Sure, buddy. The good folk at Disney sat down and pondered how to brainwash the population with their new movie. You forgot to put on your tin foil hat this morning.
There are definitely examples of filmmakers hiding agendas into children's movies. The two most notable I can think of are Angry Birds pushing an anti-Islamic refugee into Germany narrative and the Boss Baby pushing that we need to increase the birthrate as far too many adults are getting pets instead of having children. There's no getting around that Zootopia has a "don't be prejudice" kind of narrative going for it but if someone wants to read more into that it's up to them.

Uh huh. And 9/11 was an inside job, and stairway to heaven backwards is worshiping the devil, and Spongebob brainwashes kids into being gay. I’ve heard these idiotic theories for decades. I’ve seen that criticism of the angry birds movie before. I haven’t seen the movie, but I highly doubt Islam and Germany are brought up in the movie. Some moron just connected dots that weren’t there like how the pigs are green, green is the color of Islam, therefore the pigs represent Muslims. A bunch of crap. Most entertainment throughout history has had messages, it isn’t a new thing. And hypothetically, let’s say Disney did sit down with a message first and story second. How is a tolerance message a bad thing anyway? Even if that’s what they were trying to push from the very beginning? Sounds like a really good thing to push to me.

Lots of movies have varying degrees of social commentary. That's no secret. Some more so than others. Hollywood is full of opinionated people in high power positions whose job it is to tell stories. It should come as no surprise that these opinions make their way into the stories they tell. It's reached a sort of fever pitch as of late with the politically charged state of America.

Im not even saying it's necessarily all bad messages or that I don't agree with any of them. But it's definitely there.

I wish they'd focus more on telling unique, good stories and less on "this is what I think about the state of the world today."

Okay, I’m sorry for judging you, you make some valid points. I’m just a little, ya know, used to arguing with the absolute crazy of the crazy on reddit. You know, the people that think the Jews that control the movie industry are trying to take over the world by brainwashing the world. The same people that say Disney is satanic because 666 is in the logo. Those kind of people.

That one's true, though.

Because it feels like a really good Dreamworks movie and lacks the "magic" of a Disney movie. Truthfully, though, I don't think we've gotten a Disney movie like that sincr Winnie the Pooh (2011).
It has a fantastic theme/lesson to tell and genuine heart. Nothing like a Dreamworks movie at all.

It's probably the most creative and successful movie Disney has done that hasn't followed the generic Princess formula.

Doesn't How to Train Your Dragon have a message about acceptance of those who are different?

Again, separate universe, not 1 to 1 symbolism. What don’t you people understand about this?

That must be why there's so many articles discussing the problematic allegory in Zootopia. Obviously, they messed up in storytelling as a large amount of people see the same issue.

They didn’t mess up, you did. And it isn’t a “large amount” or the movie wouldn’t have made a billion dollars and have a 98% RT.

Look at the number of articles. Its not just me. Most agree the movie is entertaining. I enjoyed Zootopia, but that doesn't mean they didn't present a faulty allegory which has racist undertones. Obviously they didn't intend to, but they are still there.

When a large group of people see an issue, maybe you should listen instead of screaming "you'e wrong!"

That goes both ways though. I and another poster have explained to you very thoroughly as to why you’re incorrect and you aren’t listening.

You can't prove a negative. There have been countless people who have all come to the same conclusion. A problem exists, whether you see it or not. Analysis of a work isn't bound by the intent of the author.
