Are you for Fantasyland's Expansion or not?

I voted 'NO', however, I do believe one new attraction was needed. I always felt they should do something with the old 20k lot and now they're replacing it with something (finally!). The reason I say use the money elsewhere is because there are places in other parks that should've been on the top of the list. Animal Kingdom needs a new land/attraction, and a few places in EPCOT could be revitalized. And even in Tomorrowland, they could stand to fix a few things - maybe turn the Speedway into a light cycle race? Eventually, there will be a time when its right to expand Fantasyland to the full extent that they would like, but right now they need to address the problems in other areas.

Do I wish the expansion included 1 or 2 more new rides? Sure, but overall I'm very happy they're making this a reality and I can't wait to experience it!!

I would hardly consider Snow White's attraction a girly attraction...if anything it is more guy oriented.

I think just about every attraction, even the ones in FL, appeal to both demographics simply because they're rides. But when it comes to princess meet n greets, the genders sharply divide. I know when I was 6 I'd have zero interest in meeting a princess.

I didn't vote because I'm kinda mixed on FLE. At the very least I think it will be nice. Nothing about it looks ugly, gaudy, or out of place visually. The few things I think look really cool are the Beauty and the Beast resteraunt and the Little Mermaid ride. And I think the dueling Dumbos is a cool concept.

What I don't like about it is the rest is just glorified meet n greets. That much themeing and space should never be dedicted to a simple meet n greet. And I don't think Pixie Hollow will work in the long run. The Pixie Franchise will die out in a few years and in ten years time people are going to wonder what the heck the PH will be all about. Plus I REALLY don't like the destruction of Toon Town. I'd much rather see them rebuild TT simimilar to DL's awesome version.

I just feel the FLE has so much more potential. How about Mary Poppins dark ride? Perfect family ride, and it could be a solid E-ticket which the MK needs.

The way I understand it they would never be able to get the rights to do this. Disney just barely obtained the rights to film the movie.

Evidently Ms. Travers was very demanding.

But, I agree it would be a KILLER attraction!

I like the FLE. Two big problems in MK:

- There are very few places to sit down and eat dinner.

- 20,000 Leagues has been dead space for 16 years.

FLE addresses both of these issues very well IMO. I expect the BatB restaurant will be jam-packed and a smash hit.

Investment is good. It would be worse if WDW just stayed with what they had. Yetis notwithstanding, they understand they need to change, build and grow to thrive. FLE is part of that.

And what's happening in Anaheim bodes well for Orlando too. So does WWoHP.

Many areas of the expansion are great. The Little Mermaid dark ride, Dumbo (supposedly the second Dumbo will help get the Flying Carpets out, which I know is something that many of us don't like cluttering Adventureland), and the restaurants will all be great. It addresses quite a few problems with MK, especially the restaurant capacity. As for Pixie Hollow, I'm not too happy about it. A large, themed meet and greet area is fine, just not one with as narrow a market as Pixie Hollow. Marketing the franchise is fine, just do it in a way that boys can enjoy it too by building Neverland, where the fairies fit right in, and there's something for boys too.

A Mary Poppins dark ride would be nice too.

Quick side note: Are they going to be changing the facades of the Fantasyland dark rides, or are they sticking with the carnival theme?

I voted against because of what the sum of the parts are at this point. I am for the little mermaid ride but after that Im just not feeling it. Will it look nice? yes. Is something better than nothing? Yea. But that doesnt mean I dont think they could do something better with the $$$. If it was more attraction based (meet & greets dont count in my book) then my opinion could be different.

If all WDW management is worried about is M&G's, they should build Disney's Meet & Greet park on Pleasure Island, charge $20 a head, and let people take photos and get hugs and autographs to their heart's content.

People overlook the capacity issues park-wide that this expansion will help alleviate. With FLE, every misbehaved 8-year old girl in a princess costume will be absorbed into one space, leaving the rest of us free to enjoy the rest of the park relatively unperturbed.

I'm totally for the expansion of Fantasyland and the MK in general.

However, a Little Mermaid ride, no matter how cool it may end up being (my bets are on that it will be budget-cut to death), and glorified meet-n-greets are not what the public wants, and I have extreme doubts that the public will actually go out of their way to see this stuff.

I am for it since it was first announced. Even though the M&Gs - which make up most of the expansion - do not appeal to me, I have always liked the idea of building the scenarios of classic animated features like BatB, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and The Little Mermaid right in FL.

Now that the details of the expansion seem to be up in the air, I hope they solve the main problem the original plans had: the lack of a good number of attractions.

I votes yes. At this point any expansion in MK is a good one in my book. Could the money have been used better some place else *cough EPCOT cough* sure, but MK brings in the most people year after year so they need to keep that park new and exciting so people keep coming back.

I didn't vote either, I'm taking the wait and see approach when it comes to the final product. However, in the meantime, when it comes to expanding Fantasyland, I really don't think there's a need (or demand) for attractions like Aurora's cottage, Pixie Hollow, or Dueling Dumboes, when there are other movies and characters that would be very appreciated thrown in the mix. Some that no representation at all in MK come to mind.

I voted yes, because just about ANY expansion is good for WDW at this point, and the MK desperately needs the capacity. But if the $300 were left in my hands (a terrible mistake :drevil than I would probably use the funds differently.

I was at D23 when the expansion was announced...and I'll never forget the groans I heard when it was revealed that it was all about the freaking princesses.

I'm all for an expansion. Fantasyland is too kiddie and too small right now. But I would be more in favor of a refurbished, updated, E-ticket redo of the Peter Pan ride (could be awesome) and a 7 Dwarfs Mine Ride than I would for any of the princess meet-and-greets. The Little Mermaid ride and the Beauty and the Beast restaurant are cool though.

You're not missing anything. It's a cheap bargain-basement ride, especially compared to the version in TDL, which is mind-blowing.

I voted yes. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished product in a few years. Like someone previously stated, anything to help increase the capacity and space around Fantasyland is a good thing.
