I think the reason I'm so against it is that it's mostly m&g's. If they want to create larger capacity, wouldn't 2 or 3 more rides do more than a bunch of meet and greets?

An Little Mermaid ride, Aladdin ride, and cinderella ride would surely do better with capacity then meet and greets.

That's the thing about Disney World that contributes to its success. In real life not as many of the attractions fit into the strict gender assignments people seem intent on giving them here.

You can like something , or not, but basing that opinion primarily on it being "for girls" or "for boys" just doesn't hold water.

Yes, it does. I don't know many boys that get excited over Snow White, The Little Mermaid or Whinnie the Pooh. I know plenty of girls who enjoy Space Mountain, Pirates of the Carribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, etc. If anyone thinks the "average" boy is excited about this expansion, (s)he is delusional.

Now, that doesn't mean a boy can't or won't enjoy the attraction. But let's not pretend that any of this is appealing to boys, on a marketing level.

I'm excited to see TLM attraction and new food options, plus a better way to handle Dumbo. The expansion will be richly themed and beautiful.

But coloring with Aurora has limited appeal. I could care less about the meet and greets. They're a boon for other guests (and as lebeau pointed out, it's more people that aren't crowding the park's other areas) but to spend so much money on something like that seems to be a waste. The original plan for the expansion included a Snow White Mine Train Coaster, TLM, another D-ticket dark ride, more food options, and limited (but still existent) meet and greets. That would've made everyone happy.

Agreed. Like an earlier poster said, any ride will appeal to a boy or a girl because well, it's a ride. But meet and greets have very limited appeal.

I don't understand when people say the boys have this and that. A ride is a ride it's not generically centered.

I voted NO...WDI has so many other great ideas, besides glorified M&G's, that have not yet been tapped. I'm all for a FLE, just not the one proposed...Walt was always "plus-ing" Disneyland. Never in my dreams could I imagine Walt signing off on this P.O.C. better known as "Princesstopia."

Agreed.

If it was more ride based, I wouldn't mind but this is just to much.

I voted no only because there wasn't an option that read, "Yes, the FLE should happen, but not in its current form. Do half of the Expansion, use the rest of the money on other things in WDW."

Or better yet, we should stop caring what toddlers think of attractions, because in the end, they take away the same thoughts from riding the attractions they can go on as they do watching Playhouse Disney in their living room at home.

Not all, but most.

Which is why I voted no - there is no reason to devote THIS much money to something with a very limited target demographic and appeal.

But meet and greets have very limited appeal.

"Very limited appeal?" Have you really paid attention to how many people stand in line for the current meet and greets in all four parks? I think your own lack of interest is blinding you to the fact that for a very large amount of guests meeting characters is just as important as any ride Disney has or could build.

Are the meet and greets for everyone? No, but they don't have to be. The only question that matters is will the meet and greets satisfy the people they are targeted to?

The Princess meet and greets don't interest me in the slightest, but I recognize there is a need and a desire for more, better places to meet characters.

Didn't anyone tell you this was a "No Logic Allowed" thread?

You say meet and greets as in all. We are talking about princesses here. Not a very large population of characters there.

Fine, then the princess and fairies M&Gs. But the undeniable fact is that these franchises are worth billions to Disney, and those that follow them are considerable in number. You don't like it, fine. I'm not a fan either. But that much money where they are involved means these franchises have more than a casual backing.

Pixies won't last.
There's only 4 princesses avaibale to meet.
But ok I guess this is the smartest investment they could come up with. Right?

Tinkerbell has been around for quite some time indeed....

Just have a little patience. The M&Gs, while seemingly onerous, will if nothing else address some serious capacity issues. The castle walls will look great, and I have no doubt in the end the overall theming and layout will be well worth the investment in the end.

I don't have anything against m&g's it's just the way it's laid out. Keep b&tb (AND MAKE A B&TB RIDE) an LM ride but Why can't the princesses all be in one building. A castle. Maybe beast's? Then it wouldn't be as expensive, and everyone will be happy.
