What a joke......
Such greed.
This pay more for less WDW is getting really old really fast.

We might actually cancel our trip for May 2022.
Genie is great for first timers, nothing for people who have gone for years.
makes me wonder how much they’ll charge for the dining plan whenever that returns. i’m sure it’ll be pricier & doubt it’ll be offered for free as a promotion down the road. i’m thinking those days are over.

I will provide an honest yes here. And I will also confess that by the time my next trip comes, the cost will most likely be more. It is what it is. The worse part of waiting in line is waiting with others. To me, this cost is to absorb the annoyance of people standing next to me, instead of behind me, less stepping on my heals, less attempts at conversation, less attempts at line cutting, less bumping into me to somehow make the line move faster, and less takeover of interactive elements when my girls try.

However, as the cost of trips continues to increase, I will also admit the frequency of trips will likely decrease as other alternatives look more attractive with each short sighted move.

I'll take it under advisement. I'm not distraught that free FP+ is gone. I always thought it exacerbated standby waits way too long and now standby waits aren't unreasonable anymore. Paying for "Lightning Lane" now puts it on par with MaxPass (I know, replaced by Genie+ also in DL) and the USR service. Depending on the ride, I may use it. But because there is money attached, it will give guests pause on deciding to use it which means Lightning Lane probably won't shoot up standby waits as much as FP+.

But maxpass was along side free fast passes. It just made it easier. So idk. If the comparison is worthy. It is what it is right now. I really wanna see it in action and when it breaks and see how it recovers.

Exactly. I'll have to wait and see. I'm actually hoping they don't debut it on the 50th anniversary itself but wait several weeks after that.

I'm not sure. It's not because I am cheap or whatever reason certain people here like to propose when someone balks at an increase in price. ("You're just a poor who's angry you can't afford it and I caaaaannnn.") I don't want to wake up at 7 AM on my vacation to book rides. If I want to go on a LL attraction, I have to pay and I don't even have the ability to select the time I wish to ride. I expect this tackiness from Six Flags or Cedar Fair--this is déclassé for WDW.

That simply isn't true. None of it is true.

You DO NOT have to pay, you can wait standby (or virtual queue/boarding group), and if you purchase an Individual Attraction pass, you DO get to select the time.

If you want to be mad at it, at least understand what it is.

IF... and it is a mighty big IF we were to use it, we might selectively use it if there are some things we really wanted to do but haven't been able to get on. If we used it for the entire trip it would be an extra $600 for the 2 of us on a 10 day ticket. And then, paying extra on top of that to finally ride ROTR and the other 'E Ticket' list rides is just going to be obscene. I can see the return of 2-3 hour queue lines... like the golden days of the 80's lol. I can remember when EPCOT opened waiting in 2+ hour queues all day long... All.... day.... long....

If you even want to attempt to correct me, at least be accurate about it.

You're wrong, and it seems to stem from you not understanding what "Lightning Lane" means.

"Lightning Lane" just means "the FastPass line." It does NOT refer specifically the the attractions that you purchase individually. If you access Lightning Lane via Genie+, those attractions will be "next time available" like the old paper FastPasses. For the Individual Attractions purchases, those will be SCHEDULED by the guest.

I understand everything just fine. You just can't admit you're ever wrong and you have a pathological need to tell everyone they are wrong all the time! 🤣 🤣 🤣

BGs are BGs, and will continue to exist and will be free for Rat and Rise.

Individual Attraction purchases can be scheduled.
Right.. but they will be limited just like how bgs were. lets assume they take all the open slots from the 1pm BG to use to $LL. You cant jsut sign up and be like I wanna go at 10am.. its gonna offer you at most a few times if there are any left.

You said, and I quote: "If I want to go on a LL attraction, I have to pay and I don't even have the ability to select the time I wish to ride."

That is factually incorrect, in three different ways.

1. There is no such thing as a "LL" attraction. There are Genie+ attractions, and there are Individual Attraction purchases.

2. You cannot schedule Genie+ attractions, but you don't pay for those individually, either.

3. You do have to pay for Individual Attraction purchases, but you CAN schedule them.

Wut?

No.

Standby still exists.
You are right... math error on my part. Apologies. Was thinking of other family with 4 tickets. Yes an extra $300. And yes, standby still exists. Rides that we were content to just ride once per trip we caught with FP+, and used the traditional queue for the rest. Now... would have to pay extra for the same basic service that used to be free.

No. I was going to buy it until I realized that Genie+ only includes rides that don't have long wait times. Anything that's remotely popular, they will charge individually. So no. I'm getting the Disability pass.
