Are there any rumors about Innoventions West?

OMG @marni1971! I am at my cabin on an iPad using data right now but started to watch. I will watch this when I get back home. I never experienced Communicore completely as it was transitioning on my earliest visit. My kids were enamored by EPCOT. At that time, we kind of saw some of each iteration. We also saw a NASA group demonstrate a replica Mars Rover outside. They have not been back but I have and I am afraid they would be so discouraged by what it has become.

In addition, my daughter became an artist/animator in CA because of the animation studio at the then MGM Studios. It's now all about "entertainment" instead of "edutainment". All of WDW is losing its ability to inspire.

Ya know.......
Adding coasters, meet & greet character spots, and other amusement park "stuff" is proof that Walt's EPCOT is being raped and thrown into the gutter.
It was supposed to be a tribute to Walt's idea of a better future for everyone, illustrated by letting Disney's Imagineers run with ideas and concepts that can be developed through experimentation with the technology that we have now.
An Experimental, Prototype, Community, of Tomorrow.
Not another amusement park like the Magic Kingdom.
I hope Walt's spirit terrorizes every idiot in the Disney company that promotes such travesties.

Here are a few pics from inside the room that is normally locked except during special events such as handing out the Flower Festival drawings for AP holders. You can see the steps that you walk down to get into this room from the back hallway of Innoventions, behind Club Cool. There is also a handicap ramp as well. As you can see very minimal theming in here for this event. that runs entire length of Flower Festival.

These pics were taken back in Mid-March. Will get better updates on May 14th.

Gotta admit, I never really realized Communicore had all those sunken areas as I never got to visit it. After watching Marni's videos today, I'm super upset we lost all the sunken areas, and we lost the graceful beauty of all the huge windows. At least most of the windows seem to only be covered with vinyl so they could be restored to use one day.

those windows, while ascetically striking, made those areas closest to the curtain walls hot as fire...
Yeah I imagine they did. Well, they could always replace the glass panels with modern energy efficient panels. But I won't hold my breath.

Either way, I am dying to know what the heck they are working on to replace Inno West.

Just search google to find about the Epcot 25 exhibit that was there...

Why couldn't we just keep that in there? - they could have even turned part of it into a Blue Sky Cellar for Soarin' Over the World and Frozen.

(I mean, I know why, they probably wouldn't want to pay for the upkeep, but still...)

Last time I peeked through the doorway the pavillion signs were still up when it wasn't being used...

Step away from the few hotter areas. There was plenty of room.

Only the edge of Energy Exchange (no pun!) was near the glass and in potential sun in the summer. The other areas were all circulation corridors.
The HVAC systems for Communicore were never maintained properly in the FL heat and they were barely up to the task with the amount of outdoor air that was allowed into those buildings and the number of people that went through them. Modern AC and energy efficient glass would fix any problems.
