Are there any rumors about Innoventions West?

I doubt we would see the sunken floors again with all the concrete that was poured in sadly but restoring the buildings to something better would be even easier than updating Energy or Imagination.

I wonder if all of the sunken areas are filled in with concrete? There is a section in Innoventions East, near the microscope play area that has a metallic sound, similar to the waiting area of Philharmagic near the automagic doors. Made me think that they put down a plate metal floor and covered in carpet. I think Philmarmagics floor is because they did not change the floor out from when it was Mickey Review and had the animatronics sleds under the floor similar to American Adventure.
However, I could be totally wrong in my assumptions.

It was supposed to be the "Main Street" of the 21st Century in Future World.

Was it really? It's a weirdly dead area to me. If it were more like Main St for the 21st century (I'm thinking how the corridor entering Tomorrowland looks with plenty of neat lighting effects and all that), that would have be REALLY cool. As it is, and always has been, it's just as weird as Streets of America over in DHS.

I really have always seen those buildings as obstacles (almost office buildings) in the way of me getting around the park.

Guessing you never saw them back when the place was still called Communicore? As previously noted, that gives a far different perspective.

It's a shame that an attraction like One Man's Dream over at DHS is being closed. To bad it couldn't be moved here to educate the younger generation who Walt Disney was and what he accomplished. Also, COP would be a nice add on with OMD. EPCOT needs some major fixing but could be done with an reasonable budget.

Perhaps Mr. Marni has a photo comparison before and after of the Communicore/ Innoventions interiors? Pretty please?

I'd like to see that. I remember being at Epcot when Communicore existed but don't remember it being wildly different on the outside as you walked through that plaza.

From what I was told most, if not all, the sunken levels were filled. I forget the amount of concrete used but it a colossal number.

IIRC the MMR sets didn't slide under the audience area. Just the stage area (which actually is so large it's part of the utilidor)

Not sure if this is the same area you guys are talking about, when we were there in March, we went into the big hallway in Inno West to a room on the corner near the restrooms in the middle of the building. This room was sunken and had a ramp down to the floor. This is where they were handing out the drawings to annual pass holders.

The 25th exhibit / Segway room? Kind of next to Club Cool?

That and Club Cool have the last remaining sunken floors. It was the location of the never built TRON Arcade and from 1988 was one large, open, bright room full of double height windows for Expo Robotics.

That must be it. The doors were right on the corner facing the big windows and exit to FW West. The room was all black.

Thank you Martin for posting your videos. Brought me back. I remember having breakfast with my parents at the Sunrise Terrace. I always ordered the Stellar Scramble. Communicore was elegant, and once again could be, if those in charge would remove layers of the 1990's. Mid mod is so popular now. Future world is ready for a renaissance.

They're obstacles because so much of them is closed off or blocked off from the initial thoroughfares they were with wide open glass walls. And when the park opened, there was futuristic lighting and furniture - there's now fiber embedded in the concrete in the plaza but it's not maintained and there's so much clutter around it's hardly noticed. All of this is easily fixed.
