Sean Bailey, pres of Disney Studios.

Let's see how he polishes this turd where the majority of their films lose money in their theatrical window... unlike all the other studios Disney owns.

Unless TNT/TBS and Disney were able to work something out (or Disney found a quirk in the contract), I can't help but wonder if WarnerMedia will sue Disney for breach of contract. There's no way they would've been told about this beforehand.

TNT/TBS have exclusive rights to pre-Episode IX movies until 2024. Putting those movies on Disney's own streaming platform during the TNT/TBS deal would constitute breach of contract, unless Disney and TNT/TBS did some behind-the-scenes negotiations to at least modify some of the terms of the contract.

Last quarter Iger mentioned they were looking to amend contracts with 3rd party licensees. They must have reached an agreement. My guess is money and/or a lot of Marvel movies (considering how barren the MCU slate is in year 1).

That wouldn't surprise me if they gave them more Marvel movies, in addition to money, just to get the Star Wars streaming rights back. Marvel's a much more valuable brand that SW even for DC-owning WarnerMedia. It would be a shame if they gave up the 60s Batman series for that (though I don't think that has anywhere near the value of SW streaming rights).
