Apple's Passbook app integration w/ Disney

Apple's "big misses" from a market standpoint have been in their slow adoption of wideband data spectrums. They were a year behind in supporting 3G and a year behind in supporting LTE. That they did this to create a more uniform user experience has always been obvious, but it's always been at the expense of those that want the bleeding edge. To Apple, that's a more than acceptable tradeoff as they want to be the premium player in the broadest possible market. And they are.

I feel Apple were actually quite wise to hold back on the wideband stuff. The networks were not, and still are not in a position to deliver a service that meets Apple's service quality requirements. Why push out a product claiming 3G and LTE, when the networks just don't have it together to support the number of users.

The iPhone/Android reminds me a lot of Disney/Universal. It is OK for Android (and Universal) to do things that don't really work, and they get credited for being edgy. Disney or iPhone do that, and it is claimed to be a disaster. It is tough being a leader.

Have you seen the Macbook Pro Retina? Absolutely stunning. No better computer out there right now - that screen is unbelievable, and it is incredibly fast.

Yes I have and you are right it is stunning. How long before a competitor has the same pixel count with MUCH better specs for a cheaper price? That is my issue, the specs are just not behind it for the price. A laptop paying that much JUST for the display is not worth it for me.

Then that makes you just as clueless as the people you insult

Not entirely. I cited a very big point with lag increasing greatly on a Droid. Guess ya decided to overlook that. Of course I can go into how I prefer the broPhone camera over others with a third party App as the stock one is a crock of crap. Or I could go into the iMessage feature to text broPods and broPads.

A candidate of fair discrimination of technology.

Well as you say, it is all down to an opinion. I also have had the lot, and currently own Android devices, along with iOS, and I can say without a doubt that for me iOS is far superior.
Have you used anything with 4.1? I assure you it is night and day. If you get a chance play with a nexus 7 in the store. Its so eye opening that a product can be that good for $200.

It will probably be a while before pixel count reaches as high on a laptop. Hell its taken them 2 years to do it on a smartphone.

The cloners will definitely have something similar, but like with the iPhone, it wont work as well as the Apple version. Reason being, they wont optimize the software, and it will basically just be a very high resolution screen. What makes the Macbook Retina work so well is what Apple did with OSX, and their high end apps, like Aperture and Final Cut. The whole thing works together.

Very well could be. With the rate of technology it is up in the air. Either way paying that stupid high price for the specs is not worth it unless someone is die hard graphics, design, photo/video editing, etc. I like value and bang for my buck with purchase. There is none to be found on it.

Because you cannot buy the OS and install it?

If anything "lag" as you call it which is silly because latency refers to something completely different but I digress. Android 4.1 is very smooth and is just as fast as iOS.

Exactly no phone, computer, or mp3 manufacturer has been able to match what apple has done. Look at iPods how long did Samsung and Sony try to make an mp3 player to match apple on aesthetics alone 5/6 before they gave up. Vizio now has a MacBook and iMac clone. Is is pretty sure, but it doesn't function nearly as well as either due to cheap parts and windows. Bit it's got a pretty screen. Can I get tech cheaper than apple, yes, can I get tech with the functionality and beauty that my grandmother or 5 year old can use with no issues no.
Give a child an iPhone and with no manuals or tutorials they can use it.
Give a child a blackberry and it becomes a paperweight

So it's a racial statement, is the problem you have with apple, not their products, but that they are a progressive company

Competitors beat them to the punch. 4G? Larger screen? The processors in other phones that roll out well before crApple delays their's to have these conferences. My statement was more geared directly to computers. AS I have said a few times, maybe more than a few at this rate. I use a 4s and are happy with it. This 5 is underwhelming, lacks features, and driving purely off hype while the 5s (or whatever it will be called) will be the cream of the crop in regards to broPhones.

As I said in my post, Apple delayed their 3G and LTE (4G) implementations each by one year. They did so to allow providers more time to roll out their networks in more areas, to ensure a sufficient supply of 3G and 4G radio chipsets (some of which were in relatively limited supply at the time of the respective iPhone releases when compared to the volumes Apple was looking to buy), and to be able to improve the battery life when using these broadband cellular technologies. The huge knock on LTE/4G last Fall was how it sucked battery life. And it did. That's a negative user experience Apple wanted to avoid.

As for the larger screens, that's an issue of philosophy. Apple has decided that there is a maximize screen size that allows for the easiest one hand manipulation across a wide array of people's hand sizes. For example, my wife has pretty small hands (at leasy compared to mine). There's no way she could thumb tap the top of the screen on a phone with a 4.5" screen while holding it in one hand. Will Apple lose customers because they currently only offer a phone with a 4" screen? Probably. But not enough for them to make a usability sacrifice that they think is more important.

As for the iPhone 5 being all hype, I guess you're missing a few enhancements over the 4S (which I also own):

- Full 4G/LTE support.
- A larger 4" screen.
- Benchmarks are showing almost triple speed improvements over the 4S (double over the iPad 3).
- Support for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz Wifi frequencies, improving range and throughput.
- Double resolution front facing camera.
- Faster docking connector.
- Two-thirds the thickness and three-quarters the weight of the 4S.
- Improved screen techology - faster and more accurate touch sensitivity, improved viewing angle.

I do find it interesting that you seem to be a huge Space Shuttle fan. While subject to much political interference and design compromises too numerous to count, it was an absolute marvel of engineering. But the program as a whole was a massive disappointment which never came close to the launch frequency or safety projections that the program promised. The specs looked great but the program underdelivered in the most disappointing way.

It is a stab at the trendster nature of having it to have it because it is crApple. How the heck did you get racial from it?

Havent you heard of a Hacintosh sir! Its pretty common. Its a great way of building a machine without having to pay apple tax.

Bro as in brother as in a racial statement
Please tell me that how it means anything else

I have indeed. But it is nowhere near the same as having everything run natively on Apple hardware. We were talking about Apples top of the line Macbook Pro. I don't think some kind of Samsung thing, with a hacintosh install is going to be anywhere close to that.

I just do not see it as the hype that is around it when a much better version will be released. It is ironic that most items you listed as plusses are items that other porducts already have. Galaxy S has expandable memory (which I think broPhones need), MUCH better battery for marginal weight increase, and better resolution. All those could have been beaten by crApple.

Don't confuse one major safete issue with ignorance of a launch panel pushing for a GO due to nothing but PR. The shuttle although costly allowed items like ISS, HST, and DoD items to be accomplished that never would have been without it.

It is only racial if one chooses to see it as racial.

My friends would have built them have not had any issues, even with different hardware.

Its all based on the Intel chip set, apple doesn't use proprietary hardware other than those odd shaped ssdd. Its all the same parts except the motherboard is different and all the parts are welded or glued in.
