We actually let our AP expire because that discount did not seem to work any longer with the new night by night pricing.

I will need to price out a room, and see if the savings are more than the price of the AP, which I am sure it is, consideringthe rack rate of 555/night. Seems like 333/night, for a savings of 222/night.

Each individual passholder can only book one room. There has to be a separate AP for each room booked [the APs can stay in the same room, but if you book three rooms, you'll need to show three APs at check-in].

Are you sure? The CM on the phone told me I could book three rooms with the annual pass. I have to call back again today (another hour on hold listening to "it's a small world." Yay!) so I'll doublecheck.

Tammy, I'm pretty sure all nights after the 24th will price out at rack rate. That's what I just got when I checked Dec. 23-30.

Oh, shoot, you're so right. I didn't look closely at the per night rate. The nights after the 24th were rack rate.

Sorry! All those numbers I ran yesterday made me temporarily crazy.:lookaroun:lol:

It is a good possibility that the CM is working off old information. Up until a couple of years ago you could do book up to 3 rooms on a single AP. That is no longer the case.

Just talked to a different CM. She said that, yes, three rooms can be booked on one annual pass. I hope she's right. Don't want any surprises when we arrive in December.

I'm pretty sure she's wrong.

From AllEars.net:

"If I am an AP holder, can I book more than one room at the AP rate?

Not any longer. It is now one discounted room per passholder."

You may want to do some contingency planning. Look at what savings you're getting on each room vs. the cost of one person from the extra rooms upgrading their tickets to APs. If they won't let you check in without an AP for each booked room, in my experience it is likely worth it to have them upgrade.

As an example:

I'm staying at Pop Century in October for 7 nights. The rack rate for a Preferred room on my dates [3-10 October] is $1339.40, with a 30% AP discount that's $937.58. A savings of $401.82. An AP costs $552.74 and a 6-day Hopper $334.41, a difference of $218.33. Obviously, the AP upgrade means I'm still saving over paying rack rate.

The shorter time you stay, the less the difference in costs vs. savings, but still worth doing the math...

That is great advice. Thanks! I did the math and it's still cheaper to get three APs and use the AP rate than to pay rack rate for two of the rooms.

Is there any way to check AP rates online without an active AP? Mine expired in June but we are going again in December. Just trying to avoid having to call right now.

Any help would be appreciated!

Does anyone know what the deal is with October 2nd? Is it just sitting out in *no man's land* between the two sets of passholder rates? Earlier in the thread I saw a notation that it was a typo, but the Disney site is still listing 10/3 as the beginning of this promo. Which is it? Thanks for any help you can provide!!

Ugghhh... I was afraid of that. We're going to end up with two splits (and three separate rates) on our reservation for only a 4 night stay.  Sounds rather ridiculous. Mostly, I'm just not looking forward to the fact that we'll have to go to the front desk and check-in three times during the trip. Thanks for the info!
