Anyone else think Test Track is a totally weak ride?

I like it. My son likes it and my husband likes it. There are so many rides that I like and a few that I don't like. Disney can't please everyone. If someone doesn't like it, then don't ride it. I like the saying that some people have on their desks..."I can only please one person a day and today is not your day so come back later." Everyone is entitled to their opinions!!:)

Wow I'm actually suprised to find out that people don't like this ride. I think both Dinosaur and Test Track are fantastic. In May it will be my 22nd time to Disney World and suprisingly for me atleast no ride ever gets boring. I just love the atmosphere of all the theme parks.

However, to be more particular there are a couple of reasons I love both of those rides that you dislike.

First and foremost you can't experience anything like Test Track at any other park. It's really something different and i can fully respect that. I also think that the ride has room for expansion and new ideas, such as the post-show where you get to check out some vehicles. In addition, my father is a driver's ed teacher which might be why my interest for this ride is always perked...

Dinosaur on the other hand is not a boring ride!!! Good lord! I love flying through Dinosaur in the pitch black. I still jump even though I know where the Dinosaurs come out and where they attack from.:ROFLOL: It's such a rush for me because once again where else can I have such brilliant experiences? I think the things that the Disney Company can do with audioanamatronics(sp) is just incredible. Beyond the ride I can apperciate the technological stand point of every ride, using it's a small world as a benchmark of sorts.

Next, there's the complete lack of educational value. I don't feel I've learned a thing coming out of there, except that speed turns people on.
Then, there's no forward-thinking. Future World at its best not only inspires and stimulates the imagination (and Test Track doesn't do this for me, either), but it only tells you how cars were tested in 1995. Do they still test them the exact same way? Possibly. But there's not a hint of "the future of transportation" anywhere in the ride.
You are right, but Soarin' and The Seas with Nemo and Friends (the ride portion, anyway), are bigger offenders of these than Test Track. In my opinion, Nemo is by far Epcot's weakest link.

They way I see it, when I'm at Epcot I hope that TT packs people in so there's less folks at other rides I wanna go on. Whenever it's packed we always walk by and go "look at all the morons going on Test Track." :ROFLOL:

all in good fun of course...

Test Track was a good concept that totally went nowhere. It's like when you see a movie trailer that gets you excited but when you see the actual movie it's a total flop.

Its like people are saying dont like it dont go on it, But just remember your not going to a thrill ride park your going to Disney where its much more famliy orientated so thats why the rides are not that scarey But I guess you can say to each his/her own

I like Test Track.
I like it even more because it and BTMRR are the only "thrill" rides my boyfriend will go on. I have to do the others by myself.

My family (self, wife, kids 4,6,8) enjoyed TT. I think it's a fun ride.
I'm sure I'll be reiterating what others have said, but here are my thoughts:

1) Pro: Fun "thrill ride" that my DS4 could ride. Could it be MORE thrilling? Sure, but too thrilling and he couldn't--or wouldn't--ride. I enjoyed getting to ride it WITH my kids.

2) Pro: Theming makes you feel like you're in an automotive plant/testing area. It's not SUPPOSED to look fancy, is it?

3) Con: "Futureworld" is quickly losing the "Future" part. It SHOULD dazzle you, inspire you, and make you feel like you've stepped into the future. Instead, TT makes you feel like you're very much in the "now". While I enjoy it as a ride, I don't feel transported to the future. I think that Mission Space and Spaceship Earth accomplish this. Horizons and World of Motion accomplished this when they existed. Even Living with the Land accomplishes this to an extent (at least gives you the feel of ongoing research for improving our future). Soarin'--which I LOVE--and Test Track are really lacking in this department. Well, if I talk much about Epcot, you will hear me pining for the lost edutainment and the good ol' days... In any case, I think that TT fails the edutainment/"see the future" test.

Overall, is it "totally weak"? No. Does it have its weaknesses? Sure, but I vote for "Not" on the totally weak question.

I went on TT for the first time last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. TT and Soarin were great; Considering last time I was there the most exciting ride at EPCOT was Body Wars and Maelstrom. I`m not even sure that those two were there at the same time or not. My point is that EPCOT has never been known for thrill rides and I am happy that they have added the TT and Soarin. WDW is not and never has been all about thrill rides. You want those, you may need to go elsewhere.

We're lucky they haven't turned TT into a "Cars" attraction. It's nice to see a ride that was designed without any connection to a movie or starring a celebrity.

Is TT the best ride ever? No. But is it fun? Sure. It's all about expectations, though. It's not IOA's Hulk, but it's not supposed to be. Just like Everest, it's a family thrill ride with an emphasis on "family."

Oh, and as much fun as TT is during the day, it's also fun to try at night when the outdoor track is lit up. But really everything at Epcot looks nice at night. The Land, M:S, Imag, SSE, etc...

I love me some Test Track.:sohappy:
It's far superior to...oh...say for instance that pile of junk currently calling itself Space Mountain.:fork:QUOTE]

Please:rolleyes:, I would say Rockin Rollercoaster. Its ok, but its way to loud, and headache causing bumpy. They oughtta replace some track on that mess, or get a company that makes smoother tracks. It be cool if they had a button that you could press and turn the noise off though.

Anyways, I love test track, I think its a great ride. Dinosuar is pretty good too. It just goes to show how everyone is different.

I gotta say, u cant really bash Space mountain. Its a classic. Rockin Roller Coaster is completely awesome and will be around for a while. Test Track, though, I can honestly say that i think people are getting sick of it. It was fun and popular for the first few years but its time for a change. DINOSAUR is a good ride but i think that they could change it up a bit.

Personally, this ride is completely boring; but this is a great ride for the entire family. Any kid who's 13 and under would most likely enjoy this ride. Though, there was one girl I saw (probably 10-13 years old) in 2003 who cried hysterical about how TT was giong to kill her.

I somewhat agree. To me, bashing SM is just like bashing Cop. Lets gut Cop because the AAs move to slowly and its bumpy when it rotates between scenes. Both are classics IMO. Yes, I know SM needs a refurb, but not neccessarily because its bumpy, I mean it is but if thats the case, then what is keeping rockin rollercoastser from being refurbished. Cop could use an update, but not a gutting though.

IMO, I dont think people are really getting tired of TT, maybe the people who go often or fans like us, but not the average guests. TT to is my fav. ride out of M:S, and Soarin, probably because this thrill accomplishes something that the other dont, you actually move. And you can realistically feel the wind in your hair. Like I said, it just goes to show how everyone is different.

true everyone is different and i respect that. SM could use refurb and RR could do without so many bumps. for those diehard TT fans, im wrong, but the ride just doesn't do a lot of justice anymore. Maybe they could change it a bit. 1 thing i noticed when i rode it was that it didn't have any big drops. Yes its fast but it can only speed and make sharp turns so many times. It lacks variety.

I like Test Track and Dinosaur. They're not crazy thrill rides, because I've ridden them so many times, but there still fun. Especially Dinosaur. My dad and I just act like crazy people. My stepmom is still scared of it, so we just make fun of her.

Like others have said. To each his/her own.

As others on here have already said I think that my biggest problem is that TT was originally sold as the most thrilling ride Disney has ever created, and to some extent it still is. They never show video of the inside of the building... just the family doing the high speed loop on around the outside. So even though I have been on the attraction 3 or 4 times... based on the advertisements I always think that it is going to be more thrilling than I remembered it. May I'm just a total sucker for whatever advertisement is pushed in front of me.

Another poster said that their favorite ride was IASW, and that is probably one of my favorites as well (especially after the refurb, it's just beautiful). No I'm not one of those people that hates thrill rides, I just appreciate the ride for what it is and what it is marketed as. If it was marketed as the greatest innovation in AAs or a thrill ride I probably wouldn't care for it all that much. I also really like Splash, Thunder Mountain, and Space Mountain... again not the most thrilling rides but they aren't marketed that way. They are marketed as classic fun rides, but when you actually ride them they have a moment of adrenaline, so that makes for a fun surprise (based on marketing). I think that they really need to work on rebranding TT so that the thrill is a bonus and not the expectation of the ride.

Oh and I know that there are a lot of people out there that don't like MS or Nemo but love TT! That's just great because those are two of my favs at EPCOT. So I will stay off TT if you stay off MS and/or Nemo. We'll call it a fair trade.

It's not the best ride, but I personally enjoy it because most people can ride it. While it's a thrill ride, it's still mild enough for my mother. That just makes it enjoyable for me.
