Anyone else not a fan of "Soarin'"?

I'm a Disney fan and love most of the parks and rides, but I just don't get Soarin' and have no desire to ride it ever again after trying it twice. Maybe I never felt the "flying" sensation properly? I remember the wind effect and scents, and that was nice, but I can't understand why it seems to be many people's favorite ride. I was actually quite disappointed with it and was glad I had a FP and didn't waste a lot of time in line.

I thought it was ok. I appreciated that it was a pretty innovative ride, however, my minor concern with it is that it cuts from scene to scene so abruptly that it kinda shatters the immersive illusion and reminds me I'm on a ride.

There was another thread like this recently. I'm with you. I don't feel it either, as badly as I want to. I get a HINT of a sensation during the surfing scene towards the end, but the rest is just a movie to me.

I like the idea, enjoy the ride. Do I think either the screen or the film could use a cleaning, or perhaps some new footage? Of course, every time I see F14s on the deck of the aircraft carrier in San Diego. Hopefully they'll update it soon, but I'm not going to write it off until they do either....

Nope, I'm with you. It's a decent attraction, but for the attention it gets it's highly overrated.

It's problems are easy to fix however. All that's needed is a coherent story and less jumping from one place to another.

I disagree. It's one of a kind and it fits the land pavillion.

I always feel the flying effect and I've never gotten top row yet. :/

Agreed and it should also tie in with the theme of the land better!

If it was to be rethemed I would like to see it fitted out to suit the fictional weather pavilion. "Soarin'" through rain clouds and feeling the moisture on your face, flying through a thunder storm and feeling the turbulence in your seat, flying through spring scenes and getting that fresh smell of grass in your nostrils and the heat of the sun on your face.

I love the ride but i'll wait for Soarin' Over the World. As it stands now, the California film makes sense in the California-themed park. In Epcot, not so much.. and yes, I know it fits in with The Land - I just wish they could've made a unique film for it.

Personally, Soarin' could really improve for me if they would clean the darned screen and film.

A dusty screen and spots on the film really messes with the illusion.

I have only been on it twice: up front once and in back once. Anything other than being in front is unenjoyable IMO. I will not lose any sleep if I never ride it again.
