Anyone else miss World of Motion??

The last time(April) I rode TT I had a fast pass and still waited 45 minutes. That never happened with WoM.

I love CoP. I loved Horizons and liked WoM. In addition to be nice or great rides they served another purpose. They made the lines for other rides shorter. Continious load rides are great for moving lots of people.

When Walt Disney World becomes a Thrill Park full of stop and load rides even the fast pass lines will be hours long.

I agree with the Classic Disney concept. Move them, charge extra and let us have our memories.

Do you ever notice how much room there is at all the parks. Walt Disney World is something like 46 square miles. There is no need to remove anything in order to add something.

I liked world of motion, but I like test track better. I wish they would have just built test track without having to do away with world of motion. I really liked horizons too. However I am kind of anxious to see what mission space has in store for us.

One day in December of 95, I got the Epcot brochure, and it said "ride WoM, before it closes in January, blah, blah, blah....."

So of course I did, it was fine, nothing spectacular, I still think it was the "Automotive Spaceship Earth."

But little did I know, that same day would be my second to last trip on Horizons.

I love Test Track, so I really don't miss WoM.

Actually, I think a Disney history park would be a good idea. I think having the old rides back would be a great thing plus it would give the newer generations an idea of where the park has come from. As with most of America, most of history is erased and covered up just to bring in " THE NEW BIG THING" but usually after all the whoop-la is over, we are let down again.... I think Test Track is an OK ride but it doesn't have ANYTHING TO DO WITH DISNEY.. maybe the magic is gone... One thing I've always enjoyed about Disney is the on-going efforts to not look like the rest of the themeparks out there... well guess what.. it's starting to look like another Six Flags more and more when they replace what made Disney great with "thrill-rides".. Just another thought...LOLOL I can feel the hate mail coming..LOL

I don't think there is anything wrong with disney doing thrill rides. I think it is what a lot of the public wants. However, I don't want to see it at the expense of disney's past. As far as disney being like a six flags I don't thinks so. I mean when disney does something they try to be innovative. In what other theme park do you see a ride as technically complicated test track or even like test track in itself. Where do you see a roller coaster that launches you at 60 mph with music blasting in your ears. For that matter where else do you see a roller coaster in the dark period. Disney might be making more thrill rides than before but they are doing it in disney style. I think it is a good thing. But I would like to see a classic park in which they would recreate the favorite extinct attractions from the parks.

:) I like thrill rides. I enjoy them in the summer at Cedar Point, Kings Island or SiX Flags.:D

I also enjoy many thrill rides at Walt Disney World such as Space Mountain, ToT, Big Thunder and others.

What I don't enjoy is having a ride or show removed to build a thrill ride at WDW. With 46 plus square miles there is no need to remove something in order to add something else.

With CoP closed Tomorrow Land is very crowded. I sure hope they don't close TTA or it will be even more crowded.

WoM was a relaxing ride that also reduced other lines. The Lion King was a great show. Are they telling me there was no place else for mission space?!:(

So build the thrill rides but please don't remove my rides to do it and don't let the thrill rides become most of what Walt Disney World is about.

I'm not much into thrill rides anymore, especially since dd hates them, so I enjoy having the nice slow rides. I Love SpaceShip Earth, and so did DD. It was one of her favorite rides, the one she talks about non stop. If they ever changed it then I would be having a fit. I can see where a theme park needs thrill rides, but I wish they would leave the slower rides for the ones who don't like thrill rides. Also, doesn't TT break down constantly? I am always hearing from people who don't get to ride it because it was broken down, or they got on it and it broke down.

Anyway, I miss several rides that wdw used to have. If it was at all possible (I know it isn't but just a thought) that they had a park with all the old rides, I would love it.

A reminder...

Everyone keeps lamenting Horizon's fate, but the building was falling apart.

SPACE was one of the original Epcot concepts - now being brought to life as technology progresses. The same thing happened with Body Wars - the idea was always there.. the technology wasn't.

I can understand your point about Horizons. Dunno what it has to do with this thread but I agree with the building being unsound they had to do something. Although this wasn't the case with WOM. The building was and still is in good shape.

Yes, I miss WOM. I remember seeing it for the first time the year the park opened. I am all for Disney creating new and exciting attractions, but they need to stop replacing old ones and just build new ones. They have plenty of land and space to do so. It gives people more options for rides while waiting on a Fast Pass. Take Tomorrowland, for example, where during the non-COP and Timekeeper (anyone remember it being called the Transportarium?) operation there is only 1 ride to go on while waiting on a fastpass - the Wed Way People Mover (no it will never be TTA for me). They need more fun family attractions, not just thrill rides. I just came back from DL and the Matterhorn is just that, a fun family attraction with only a 36" height requirement.

Waiting in line for Test Track = Ride WOM 4 times
Ride WOM once = Ride TT 3 times

On the Space subject, let's only hope it's as inspiring and well made as Horizons. Boy, I miss that attraction. Especially the music. *Turns on Soundtrack*...ah....Jules Verne...
