Anyone else miss World of Motion??

Like others have said, I'm glad we now have Test Track.

Don't get me wrong, WOM was okay, but I personally feel that it was the weakest of the Future World "pavillions" due to the campy comedic way it approached its subject matter.

I'm with you, pal.

Maybe as a tribute to the both Buddy Baker and Ward Kimball, the brains behind the ride, it can be brought back!!

EH...we can dream. :(

I hope they never get rid of the slow Disney classic rides as well. If I was able to I'd be riding every thrill ride in the park but due to my disability it's not possible for me so I at least get to ride the slow rides instead. If Disney ever got rid of it's slow Disney classic rides they would take a lotta magic and fun away from the disabled...LONG LIVE GMR!!! :)

39 MORE DAY'S!!! :sohappy:

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Yes, we all miss the OLD EPCOT, even though I don't remember it all that well. But I do remember Horizons, WOM, and JII.

Eh, one day, be it 10 or 60 years from today, (wait, I may be dead!) we'll have an EPCOT with attractions just as good or better with the classic Disney sparks reviving. Just waiting for that day, and imagining, creating, and dreaming on the way!

Remember, guys, Disney want's to try to make everyone happy, and by replacing WoM, they have finally brought a thrill ride to the park. I do agree that slow rides can be entertaining and all, but from what I have seen of WoM, it was barely a "learning" experence. I am not saying it wasn't great for what it was, I am just saying it didn't fit in as well at Epcot as the other rides. With test track, they show how cars are tested and made using the ride itself, the queue, and the post show area. They might not have to do with the future, btu then, mabey they are trying to say that the current technologies used are what the future modes of transportation will still consist of. We won't be flying around in Jetson-style hovercrafts to get to work any time soon, so currently, the future of transport depends largely on the current form of autos.

And then there are the people who love cars and mechanics and love the ride. Just because you want the old ride back doesn't mean the rest of the world does. And there is absolutley nothing wrong with people enjoying the current version. You have to keep in mind that Disney wants to make as many people as possible happy.

Valid points. But I still hate Test Track. Even more than JIYI (mainly because JIYI can be easily fixed if needed; the original track space is there for a refurbishment.)

WOM - Barely learning? Maybe you were asleep!!

The whole thing was a comedy within a history lesson - soooo convincing and real - right there, you're in a history. (Remember the park scene??) This was a history lesson, a present lesson, a future lesson - not only about how cars are made - but about the essense of MOTION - of vehicles...of "being free". What a broad theme, convincingly and entertaingly covered in fifteen minutes.

It fit right in EPCOT in its opening day. Nothing really made the ride outdated. In fact, it went more into the future than test track. But as for the thrill ride, and how EPCOT needs one to boost attendance, people say, WOM could have undergone extensive rehab, and there would be enough room to add Test Track. In fact, the current thrill ride, which leaves most diehard RETRO EPCOT/WOM fans in the dark, uses only one half of the pavilion space. And uses 1/3 of the original ride length.

I say if a new attraction is going to be built, think of the people who liked the old one. Make a combination. Throwing out the 15 minute classic Disney masterpiece and installing a quick thrill ride about making cars (OOOH, let's all work at GM!!) in my eyes is really depressing. And really lessens my positive attitude towards the Walt Disney Company.

We won't forget the WOM and its message. No matter what kind of attraction replaces it, those of us who were lucky to ride it will always have its spirit in our hearts.

I think the idea of a history park for all of the old rides is a good one. I believe it would be a very popular spot in WDW. I loved WOM, especially the future city. I wanted to live there.:)

ITS FUN TO BE FREEEEEEEEEEEEEE

YES, WOM will be forever missed.

I wonder what it would cost to design and build your own WOM, it would probably be under 20 million assuming you had the land and you used a warehouse type building (yes i know the best part was going outside up the circular 'stair case') just a thought

I was just thinking of how a history park would be laid out. I think it should be laid very simplyyou would enter through a flower garden and archway. on one side would be a gift shop and bathroom on the other a small walk through on upcomming movies. just inside would be an old main street, not as big as the magic kingdom but all the small shops that are now not there like the magic shop. then in the center of the park would be a huge mickey mouse ears and a statue of walt disney. and maybe in the big ears would be the walk through all about walt disney(like whats in MGM now) then you could go out from a cntral hub. The park will start out small, but grow as rides change in the other parks. I would call it the walt disney world Musem. there could be a section on designs that never made it. props and costumes that are not used any more. the mickey mouse costumes that changed through the years. so much can be put in and the park should be very in-expensive to build since most of the rides would be old rides that are no longer in the parks.
