Anyone else actually like DCA?

If I was a WDW regular, I would feel the same way about DCA. Aside from Cars Land, all its best experiences exist in Florida. I'm a Californian, and even I treat DCA as a Park-Hopper-Only add-on to a day at DL, usually for a couple of hours while DL is unbearably crowded.
Will you feel differently once Marvel is complete?

I like DCA, but I have never once bought a one day DCA ticket without at some point in the day there thinking, "Maybe I should have chosen Disneyland instead." I just run out of things to do there so much faster. Too much filler.

It’s easy to think one hates something when they are only mentioning what they don’t like about the park.

Hit the nail on the head. I think this is one of the biggest problems with the world right now. People tend to think in extreme black and white, this or that, because it's more difficult have a more nuanced, in the middle opinion on things. It's easier to love or hate something. But I've read that there have been studies on this, and it's shown that by constantly saying "I hate" to things, when really you just dislike or are indifferent to something, you are training your brain to be more negative and hateful.

I will not allow myself to fall into that thought pattern when conversing about Mickey Mouse things.

Lol. I think judging it just as a roller coaster and nothing else, it's awesome. As long as the track layout never changes, nothing can change this in my mind.

I have very mixed feelings about the Incredicoaster remodel. On the one hand, the theme went from basically nothing to, something. On the other hand, I wish it had been more extensive. But idk, I still like it. It's a great roller coaster with some weird frosting on it.

Like, this cake probably tastes great, but what weird frosting.
For me, the coaster went from super-re-ride-able to one-and-done. As an unthemed coaster, it was a great, thrillng trip around the Pier celebrating roller coasters in general. Now it's full of non-stop, annoying, smug, aren't-we-clever chatter from animated characters. "Great coaster with weird frosting" is a fantastic way to put it. :D I don't want to hear the cast of Moana chatting all through a trip on the Disneyland Railroad, either.

Fair enough. I can see that being pretty distracting for some.

Probably stupid question but, that's not really a thing, is it? I haven't been on the rail road since before they re-routed it for Star Wars.

Definitely lost some of that repeatability factor. I’ve been on it 3 times though because it’s still a fun coaster with annoying voices and jack jacks on sticks.

I'm not much of a superhero fan (at least not as an extension of what "Disney" means), so I'm not really interested in Marvel... BUT I love Mission Breakout even though I've never seen either of the GotG films. And the IoA Spiderman ride is on my bucket list. So if they can design a Marvel area that even a non-fan like me can enjoy... featuring at least one GREAT ride, then it'll be a huge plus for how I feel about DCA. I'm optimistic; that area of the park can only get better, right?

They already have that with Mission Breakout, as far as I'm concerned.

As far as new stuff goes, I'm not super optimistic about Spiderman because I'm not personally a huge fan of the shooter rides that already exist at Disney. But I think it's an acceptable addition and will round out the offerings, even though it's not my thing. If phase two doesn't fall apart and we end up with our indoor coaster eventually, I will be happy as a clam. And I cannot wait for the Antman microbrewery. I'm excited to have drink and a burger in a weirdo Marvel science lab with stupid big/small prop gimmicks all around.

Thank goodness it's not a real thing (knock on wood). After Pixar Pier and Frozen Maelstrom, that certainly was not a stupid question. :)

Even though they are using the ride system better with GOTG:MB the overall experience is not better. No buildup. No suspense. The show scenes are just a blur of non sense. The ride would feel exactly the same without the TVs on.

Side note: I feel like everyone was saying “hit me with your best shot” was one of the worst ride profiles but I finally got it recently and found it to be one of the best, if not the best. I have now experienced all the different profiles. My favorite is still MAD when considering song + ride profile.

This is the issue for me. The ride was fun for me as a coaster to enjoy the sights/thrills. Now it is people screaming in my ear as I try to enjoy it.
Everyone should shut up while enjoying all of the rides at Disneyland. Do not express any emotions while enjoying the thrills. Do not recite any of the narration. Do not enjoy yourself. A theme park is NOT for your enjoyment.

Also, keep your sticky, crying, brats at home. They have no place at Disneyland. It's for people to relieve their childhoods. Not for your children to create childhood memories.

I think it's just my least favorite song of the bunch. Maybe other people felt the same and it has nothing to do with the ride profile.

True. I think it’s my least favorite song too but I found it to be the most thrilling profile.

The 'blur' you refer to is my big gripe, especially since I think the ride works better than I expected. Obviously it couldn't have a complicated plot, but I don't care for most of the random vignettes and they aren't as funny as they're intended to be. A linear progression of scenes would be a step in the right direction, not to mention a little more acknowledgment from the characters, seeing as riders are supposed to be in on the scheme. It couldn't be too much to hope that the elevator might interact with the environment somehow. As it is I think the ride is close to being great, and I'm certain they will make some changes to freshen it up for the opening of Marvel Land, though how much of an improvement is yet to be seen.

He was referring to The Incredibles yakking away nonstop in the coaster audio. I find that annoying, too. :)

Okay, as someone who’s never seen a GotG film & has no interest in these characters...I actually enjoyed the chaotic randomness of what was going on. If Universal’s Nintendoland ever opens a Smash Brothers ride, it should feel like MIssion Breakout. :D

I like DCA.
I like it much more now then i did when a first visited in 2007, pre-makeover.
It was appalingly BAD then....and so 'empty' of things to do or see that were of interest.
Just sparse....and not at all worth the same admission rate as Disneyland next door.

Post-makeover it holds a bit more appeal to me, but only in certain areas.
The new additions of B. Vista Street, Cars Land, and later on the retheming of the sparse Condor Flats into a area more scenic was a welcome improvement.
The excellent added street entertainment and the fabulous Carthay Circle were also a nice plus.

The Park still needs 'more' and has potential, but now it seems it's moving 'backwards' again with the silly 'Pixar Pier' overlay.

It's still only a Park I'll spend maybe three or four hours in however.
Disneyland Park can keep me contained open to close, for several days in a row.

"Jack Jack!"
"Where's Jack Jack?!"
Jack Jack!"

Screamin had minimal theming but at least it had a fun soundtrack. The Incredicoaster is basically noise from beginning to end.
