Any word on the new MM&Y replacement?

Disagree completely. There is something amazing about fireworks. They are awe inspiring. Lasers and fountains - no matter how technologically impressive can never have the same emotional impact on an audience.

I can't help but stop and watch fireworks - I was tired of MM&Y after a few viewings.

I do agree of the emotional impact of fireworks. Holiday Wishes in particular gets me everytime! lol. But I do think anyone that would not Love a "Dreams" style show at the MK would be crazy! It kinda covers everything from Fireworks, Fountains, Projections, lasers.

The point being WDW does not need a Dreams clone. Fantasmic has fountains and mist screens. RoE has (old) lasers. The MK should be reserved for the classic big firework show above the castle.

That is true. WDW has a nice mix of shows, they just need updates!

Updates are different than new shows. Fantasmic is spectacular and just needs some new technology. Illuminations is practically perfect in every way (The only thing that needs updating here are the outdated fountains). Wishes is okay, but people love it and it's a classic fireworks show which is exactly what MK needs. DEP needs to go, but I'm not gonna start that battle here, as long as there is some kind of second nighttime show in mk.

Agree...though a show like Remember Dreams Come True that showcases the various attractions of the part would be pretty awesome...

No! LOL.
I'm a HUGE laser fan and lasers all good at Epcot and DHS, but not for MK. The castle and lasers just don't fit for me.

Geez, Steve, spoil my fun!

I was being entirely sarcastic, although I'll admit that I really like the lasers in Illuminations. Experiencing that show without the lasers substantially changes the experience--for the worse.

(Although I will say that adding copious amounts of laser usage might make a show like Disney Junior Live on Stage much more palatable for me! And would it be too much to ask for a laser cats attraction, Disney?! ;))

I hate to be accused of trying to get a topic back on track, but has anyone heard an actual date or date range as to when the new show is expected to be up and running?

You couldn't imagine a section of the show where the villians try to blow up the castle with lasers and a bunch of pyro is set off on the castle to mimic destruction? THAT WOULD BE EPIC!

I think projections could be incorporated a little into a fireworks display, but the MK does not need dreams..... And would not really work well either - Paris' hub is a lot more open plan and as mentioned before, it works because of the pyro limitations - id take MK fireworks any day!

Now.... If the hat leaves us (although I'd like it moved to just outside the park.... Just because, don't shoot me!). I think a projection/fireworks show would work amazingly on the Chinese theatre with amazing pyro and maybe a modern day giant sorcerer mickey! :) or buzz/woody!

I've always thought that EPCOT could benefit from utilising the lagoon like Tokyo Disney - water parades, projection screens/better fountains for illuminations, moving floats ie used for projections

Celebrate the Magic is scheduled to Debut at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party November 12th, and for Day-Guests the next night, November 13th.
It wont be ready for the Nov 9th party??? What's the Party guidemap going to say??? (MM&Y was in the party guidemap last year)

Have you seen CTM test???

Right now they are aiming for the 12th, but that'll be tight.

Tests show projection quality (after projector moving and castle remapping) to be equal if not better than MMY was.
