Any plans for a new main Parade?

Yes, i know the magic Kingdom just got a new parade, but I'm talking a larger scale replacement daily parade for the "Dreams come true" one. Are there any rumors at least? I guess Parade of Dreams isn't transferring, but a nice new one built from scratch....

So will we see anything new in the next few years? Do you think they're putting a new parade off until the 40th anniversary in 2011?

They recently (relatively speaking) altered the 3:00 parade by removing the actual glass domes from the snowglobes. I imagine they wouldn't have gone to this trouble and effort had they not planned for it to run a few more years.

I'm sure something is in development, as always, but it will probably be a while before we see it.

"Unfortunately"?!? Although this one is pretty good, it's far from perfect. And I think that, like, everyone on these boards is sick and tired of these old units schlepping along the route. Think about the possibilities! We could have floats that actually still DO STUFF at show stops! We can have acrobats and dancers MIXED WITH characters! And just think of the possibility of actual special effects and features on the floats! To me, it sounds great!

Agreed. There is so much more Disney can do with a parade these days. Everything is old technology now. Plywood floats on steel carriages running on batteries. That concept can stay, but they can do SO much more with the onboard animations, characters, effects and other technology.

Even Spectro is dated technology. Some of its floats are refurbs from really old parades. And everything is still plywood with christmas lights stapled to it.

Sure, it looks cool, but with LED and fiber-optic and other technology being so common place, there's no reason why Spectro couldn't even be updated or replaced.

SpectroMagic! uses FiberOptics, and it was cutting edge technology at the time. Now Spectro or MSEP 2.0 with LED system and some sort of Video embedded that can be Awesome.

Now, don't know if I'm alone here, but is anyone totally taken out of the immersion of Spectro when Tink pops in on one of those T.V.s in the windows of the finale floats? I mean, they look totally like T.V.s. They should have upgraded to High Definition by now...

I'd guess you'll have 1991 and 2001 parades running right thru until at least 2011 ... hopefully by then WDW's exec 'leadership' team will realize that maybe something new might be needed.

Question....

Does anyone notice that the parade that came before Celebrate (Remember The Magic) actually looks more detailed and fun than the current parade? The show stop even seems to have more energy!

It's too bad Disney probably ripped those poor things apart. They looked so much better than the not-snowglobes WDW has now.

It obvious the next celebration will be centred around WDW's 40th b-day and it seems to me that disney are dumbing down the current celebration so the next one can be spectacular like the Year of a Million dreams, and hopefully that will mean a new parade for MK, however though i love it, i feel spectromagic is in more need of update than the 3pm parade, so hope they have the sence to upgrade it first. I do however think that AK is in most need of a new parade at the moment as the parade there has now been running for over 10 years.

And Spectro has been around for 20, and for all intents and purposes the Day Parade has been the same for 10. But Spectro is by far the best parade on property, and the 3PM parade is terrible.

If anything I want them to bring back the Tapestry parade at EPCOT, but I know that won't happen.:(

On my list of Parades that need replacement the "new" 3 o'clock parade needs the axe first. I actually don't know if AK needs a new parade or not? The one they have now fits the park so well.

Maybe the Mickey Mania parade. I think that started in '94 or '95 and went into "96.

I don't want to see MJJP go anywhere. I love that parade.
