I don't know why, but randomly last night I came up with an idea for the Imagination Pavilion. Someone sort of mentioned this before, but maybe keeping the Imagination Institute theme, but still reverting back to the original focus of the pavilion might be the best course of action. Also, what would make a lot of sense if they are going to redo JIA and HISTA is to re-open the upstairs Imageworks section, maybe reworked, and add in a preview center that allows guests to let their imaginations run wild by peeking into the future of the pavilion. It would be better to have something open then re-opening each section as it is completed. I would imagine JIA would be the last thing completed.

Unfortunately, WoL is going to be convention space for the foreseeable future. I don't think it's smart, though, because that's prime real estate. Epcot has gotten way too crowded with people trying to get on the three E-ticket rides. They need a new one to eat some of the crowds.

They could do soooo much more with this pavilion. My ideas are:
  • A rollercoaster through the body (think Magic School Bus' "In the Body" episode, but on a track) Highly themed, completely emersive, all-access pass through the human body. Queue, load, and launch inside. The rest of it outside.
  • An interactive ride/game where you can fight common ailments as team. Have 4 or so different options (common cold, the flu, a cut/scrape, pink eye) that are things everyone knows exist. The ride could either be like DQs PotC or like TSM/Buzz. If you design it like buzz you could just shoot all the germs in different
  • Some carnival-esque games based on hygene: teeth brushing, shaving, deoderant use, etc. Maybe another puppet show type thing.
  • A stage show along the lines of Food Rocks, but with hygene and vitamens (sp?).
And now that I think of it, we may need to expand...

By the 3 E-Ticket rides, I assume you are referring to M:S, TT and Soarin' right?

I like the ideas you have here. If they do decide to stick with the whole body theme for that pavilion, these are some pretty solid ideas.

Which, I honestly can't believe Disney hasn't exploited to sell even more overpriced merchandise that was "customized" by the guest. I would have expected one of these in Downtown Disney 5 years ago.

Build a Bear workshop is a rip-off. Back then kids played with sticks, not overpriced stuffed bears.

These are great ideas! The whole health theme would be welcome to stay in my book if they went along the lines of what you said.

And that's where Mt. Fuji would come in.

Ok, here is my suggestion for a weather themed pavilion:

1. Stormrider: I just watched the video of it from TDS and it looks pretty awesome. That would be the highlight of the pavilion and would definitely draw in crowds.

2. Weather Adventure (Working Title): Basically a show similar to Cranium Command except focused on weather. The story would focus on one guy who is tired of dealing with bad weather. Later, an eccentric scientist invites him to discover what goes into the weather. Guests would enter a theater where they would have basic meteorology explained and experience various weather effects including strong winds, rain, heat and snow.

3. Weatherworks: Guests are brought into a play area where they can create their own windtunnel and other weather related exibits.

I like the idea but think it would be better suited for MK, maybe in the gift shop for the proposed Little Mermaid dark ride?

Cranium Command probably won't open.
Unfortunately Body War's simulator's have been taken out. (at least I think they have)

Cranium Command won't reopen anytime soon, but that isn't to say it never could. Based on technical work alone, I wouldn't say its an impossibility just yet.

As for Body Wars, the simulators are still there but are in use after being annexed into the development range of the WDI offices behind the former pavilion. They have been used to perfect Star Tours 2 and for some other purposes in attraction development.

Yeah. Disney really needs something to compete with Universal's 1-2 punch of The Rip Ride Rockit and Harry Potter. I have a good feeling whatever they are planning might happen at Epcot.

Mind you, Universal won't be getting anything majorly new after that for quite some time. Once the final phase of the Wizarding World is completed, their budget will be spent and Disney will have plenty of room to volley their responses for years to come. Just like always, Universal shoots in spurts while Disney fires in rapid succession.

idk, I have heard a lot of rumors about Magic Kingdom getting the Little Mermaid dark ride from California Adventure as a possable major addition. Animal Kingdom needs more rides, so I could see that too. Since it appears they are trying to completely redo Hollywood Studios, I think a likely new ride is an indoor thrill ride in the Pixar Place area.

Magic Kingdom will be getting the Little Mermaid dark ride from DCA to anchor its Fantasyland redevelopment project. Animal Kingdom is being prepared (over the next 5-7 years) to be a host to a whole new type of park offering by Disney. The first signs of visible work on this larger project began with Expedition Everest (and its area's complex lighting package) and has been continued with Primevil Whirl during its most recent refurbishment. There is plenty more to come... :animwink:

DAK Expansion-It was supposed to break ground soon, so I would think this would happen first along with JII.

Not very likely. Construction time to build up an entire land compared to rebuilding/reworking a pavilion is hardly similar. Animal Kingdom's expansion (when greenlit) will take at least a year and a half to be ready.

Here's some things that would be nice.
-SGE removal & replacement Eventually, when Tomorrowland's overhaul is greenlit
-bring Indiana Jones Adventure to WDW Not as likely now, but still on the books as a replacement for the Indiana Jones Stunt Show if management decides not to update it
-Jiyi v.4 WDI will be handed over the lower pavilion (Journey into Imagination with Figment, Honey, I Shrunk the Audience and Figment's Place) soon. They already have free reign over Imageworks upstairs.
-updated Soarin' film To be made in conjunction with Tokyo's version if all goes according to plan
-Little Mermaid dark ride The construction bid was put out earlier this month--it has begun
-Pixar Place additions Soon to be announced
-updated RNRC Not anytime soon
- WoL getting big update Not anytime soon
-new UoE film Not anytime soon
-finished SSE descent Little by little, work will continue
-Sounds Dangerous removal & replacement Following the end of the Easter busy season, Sounds Dangerous will close once more. Pending any major spikes in attendance that are projected, it shouldn't be reopening. After seeing (or rather, hearing) the show for the first time, I am confident that the replacement will be far better received (by a specific audience). Not my taste, but it will do the job it needs to.
-Star Tours 2.0 On the way
-DAK expansion (Mysterious Island) Down the road
-Fantasyland expansion/refurb Begins with The Little Mermaid
-Toontown Remodel Not too soon
-Muppet's Studios Not anytime soon
-World Showcase additions Still up in the air

Any more ideas? I will add them onto the list.

My answers are in bold next to the idea.

Beastly Kingdomme was originally planned to open with the park. It's dead as of now. The leading canidate is Mysterious Island from Tokyo.

Star Tours II is supposedly done. Just needs to be implemented.

Star Tours II is still in production and post-production stages. It won't be imported into the simulators until Lucas gives his full approval on the entire work, meaning audio, video, effects and overall experience. Once post-production is complete, he should be testing the ride in a full mockup here in Florida.
