I have a couple extra (empty) rooms in the house and was making one in to an office and was going to decorate it with Disney stuff. I have a couple things here and there like pictures and picture frames and figures..... but I am looking for some other ideas like paint schemes and creative ideas.
If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

My girlfriend just mentioned to me that in the Sarotoga Springs DVC Center the ceiling is painted with clouds of the Disney characters. THAT IS WHAT I AM LOOKING FOR!!!

anyone other than a disney nut is going to think you're nuts when they see it....
i've seen people do this type of thing before and it looked terrible, but with the right style and money you might be able to pull it off

devote one room to disney pics like i am doing, you take EVERY pic out of your photo albums, copy then, and then sticky tack them the wall.

Bold Idea

I would love this:
Paint the room a glossy black with white trim. Paint a wide red border around the middle, and in that border, paint sets of 2 white ovals spaced out around the room. The idea is to invoke Mickey's shorts with buttons. Then hang poster size prints - either of Mickey through the ages or of favorite theme park attractions.

Oh man, working in there would be a pleasure!

OOOOOOOO I like this idea... Kinda cool.... The only problem would be the black... I know it has to be there for the idea but I don't know about working in a black room. I think I will keep it classy looking and like you said just add poster size prints. The expensive parts would be the damn frames
GREAT IDEA!!! Anymore?

This takes a few steps, but it is worth it.

1) Book a trip to WDW, stay at your favorite resort.
2) Stay the whole trip.
3) On the last day, steal everything from the room.
4) Send the stolen goods back home.
5) Set up your new room.

If weird paint is not out of the question, you could just "paint" frames around the posters. Maybe a red or yellow room (or red on the bottom, yellow on top) with black silhouette frames painted on behind the posters, which would then just be put up with poster tape. This sounds very Disney to me - the painted on frames. You could make each one a little different - maybe some hidden Mickeys in the corners of one, maybe one that looks like one of the castle mirrors, maybe one that looks rustic (Jungle Cruise? Safari?). You could make the frames themed like the posters. This would keep you away from the black room and be much cheaper (and more lightweight) than frames.

OK I am definitely doing this as soon as DS officially moves his stuff off to college!

Well I will Tell you what...I think that if you really want a Disney Themed room go for it. My wife and I have Disney only in 1 room of the house and that is our Bedroom. Friends come over and they say "I thought you really liked Disney" We always reply with "We Love Disney, look at our room" The biggest reason we did that is to stay young at heart. No offense to anyone who has a ton of Disney in all of thier rooms of thier home, but I know when to put a stop to it.

As for Ideas:
*Go with a theme of either your Favorite Movie or Ride/Attration at the parks.
--I would do the Tiki Room or Beauty & The Beast.
*Stick with it. Go all out with what you are doing. DO NOT put 100% Effort into it and get only 50% of the look. If you really want Disney you have to do it. So if black walls will accomplish that then so be it. Remember you can change anything that you do not like. That is one thing I have learned from Interior Decorating, DO IT to the fullest.
*Take old Photos or New ones and get them blown up and put them all over the room. My wife and I have our Wedding Pictures (Disney) blown up and also some classic photos from when we were children at Disney on the Walls to. Try Black & White.
*An all Black and White room, see above for the picture Idea.

I hope some of these ideas/words of wisdom help.

Don't forget you can change your door and blinds, too. I know the doors are available at Home Depot, but I can't remember about the blinds. Or, you can always do your own! Home Depot also has some ideas if you go to their paint department.

I have more than 20 wall clocks hanging in my office. I don't always have them running....imagine being alone in the house and all of a sudden, you hear the clocks. Loud, very loud.

Are you near a Wal*Mart or K-Mart? Look for advertising. I have several things that were given to me that no one seemed to ask for when the items they were advertising came out and they were going to get rid of the stuff. They just toss the stuff out. Never hurts to ask.

the blinds are from 3 day blinds. We got ours at The Great Indoors. They have a website too.
The plastic part of the blind is replaceable. So you can change your picture if you want.

The only problem with them is they are child safe and don't have the cord to raise or lower them. They have these plastic clips that you use. I still haven't learned how to use them correctly so it usually stays down and we just turn the wand to open them.

Word to the wise...the Disney Doors at Home Depot are $300 not including shipping to the store. (Our friend's little girl LOVES Cinderella, we thought it would be like a kit or something but they actually custom make the door.

I loved the idea about Disney photos from childhood to present! That's cute. I have one wall in my bedroom planned for my collection, but I am sure it will go into other rooms too :)

I don't like having Disney all over my house but I do have one room with some collectibles and things, nothing overboard, but it is definitely my Disney room. My father in law gave me some great park & attraction posters that I think he found on eBay. I have the posters hung on the wall where my drafting table is... on another wall I have framed photos from trips to Disney. On 2 bookcases I saved some shelves above my art supplies where I put souvenirs & knick knacks I've picked up over the years... not too cluttery or else it would never get dusted

I also have a couple of artsy Disney posters I picked up at Marketplace, framed on the wall opposite the attraction posters, as well as some small prints by Lasse Aberg

What kind of paint jobs were you considering- did you want do do actual murals, or more of a color scheme? Mickey colors are easy even if you don't want to paint the walls black. You can do a lot to suggest Mickey without a lot of paint. Paint the trim if you want, or do an accent wall. You can get creative with the window treatments too: red curtains with buttons (as on Mickey's shorts) would really stand out as long as the wall around it was kept simple.

I am going to post images of my mothers kitchen, disney from wall to wall, nicely done too, but she collected the stuff over time....would have cost mucho if she went in one stop.

I've been wanting to do a Disney room too, we just don't have an extra room yet. But whenever we get a bigger house later on down the road I'd like to have a Disney office.

My idea was to have the theme be "Disney World Vacation". I'd buy giant collage picture frames and fill them with pictures from all our Disney trips. Also blow up photos of things like the Castle, Spaceship Earth, etc and frame them and hang them. Possibly get some attraction posters (framed of course). Then have various shelves around the room for things like die cast vehicles, our Mouse Ears, Disney stuffed animals, etc. Get a peg shelf to hang pin lanyards on. Maybe frame some park maps and hang them. Get something to put all our Disney magnet collection on.

I can't wait! Though it will be 5-8 years before we buy another house!

Oh please do! My husband and I always say we're going to collect Disney kitchen stuff over time and do that, but we never do. I'd love to see the end result!

These are some great ideas guys thanks so far. I think I am going to do the movie poster idea with a paint scheme that I am not sure of yet. I like the drape idea over the blinds. The theme I am unsure of though still for the posters. I don't know if I should do the Disney Caracter movie posters or if I should do Disney Movie Characters or just Disney movies or what. I probably have room for about 8 posters total. I do not want to do the theme park posters because I plan to do something else with that in a different room.
So what about the posters???
