Looking for a high resolution image of Cinderella Castle during the 25th anniversary of WDW. The two images I have of the castle are not very good.

TIA.

Aaaaaaah, the most infamous thing WDW ever did, next to toilet-papering the castle, leaving the temporary wand over SSE, and never finishing the Pop Century resort.

:D

The birthday cake castle actually looks decent in photographs; but in person, it was a pepto-bismol-colored mess. In a now-legendary (but true!) story, the sight of the castle-cake at the Wedding Pavilion made brides so upset that Disney had to install a stained-glass window of the classic castle in the chapel. People apparently didn't want to be reminded of Pepto-Bismol while saying their vows.

I think it was cool the first time you saw it but then it just got old. It seemed to be up forevever, or maybe I just went more than usual when it was up.

I thought it was a great idea for anyone that has visited the Magic Kingdom before, but I felt sorry for all of the guests that never had the chance to see how the castle really looks like on their first vacation.

No luck so far. :(

I'm interested in it because it's still a part of WDW history commemorating the 25th. Just interested in having some keepsake of this time period.

Oh and when I mean "high-res", I don't refer to small 400x200 grainy images. If this is all I can get at the end then so be it. Just trying to narrow down my search for now.

Have you thought about a hires scan? I`m sure one of the hard back souvineer books has a full size (A4) pic that`d scan okay?

EDIT - I can`t find it! I know I have it somewhere - not much use to you though is it?

Yeah, I remember my first ever trip to Disney World!

I was riding the ferry over the lake and my wife says, "ok, get ready, here comes the.........HOLY S#@T!! What the He** is that??"

My response, "Looks like a big cake:slurp: , where's the castle?":veryconfu

Of course I then found out where the castle was.....:hurl:

I was on my first WDW vacation during the cake's reign. I liked it. I thought it was very fun and made my trip different than some of my friends. It was over the top and yes, very pink, but fit Disney.

I also love the HCOE additions to the castle.

I'm not a real big fan of anything being done to the castle. I think the HCOE decorations are pretty, but I was hoping it would be back to it's beautiful self on our next trip in May. I don't think it's going to be though.
I visited back during the cake year. I think it had been my first trip back in almost 10 years. It was cool to see, and I'm kinda glad I did. I didn't have my obsession with Disney back then so it didn't bother me. Today, I would hate the sight of it.

My first trip to WDW and the MK was for the 25th anniversary in 1996. I didn't mind it at all. Sure it was my first trip, but being just shy of 10 and knowing it was a fun cool TEMPORARY thing made the trip special. I like the 50th enhancements to the castle as well, but can't wait to have the original castle back. :)

We actually went to downtown disney to have our picture taken with mickey with a mural of the normal castle as our background because we didn't want the half pink half regular castle as our background. :lookaroun
