Any Epcot purists cave into Cosmic Rewind yet?

I have not. It's not from any personal protest; I am afraid of getting motion sickness from being in the dark and feeling disoriented. Maybe I should try Dramamine and ride on an empty stomach?

It's hardly anything to be worried about. I'd try that, but it's certainly not overly thrilling and is very smooth.

Disagree. As someone with motion sensitivity I tried riding twice and felt sick and disoriented during the ride and for a while afterward.

The ride will shut down for brief periods during most days due to “protein spills”. My daughter got stuck on the ride once because someone in the vehicle ahead of hers had spewed everywhere.

I no longer ride GotG but wait for my party at the exit and while about 90% of guests are smiling and happy, there is about 10% (all ages, kids through seniors) who are clearly nauseous. I have even seen medics attending to guests at the exit.

@Sans Souci if you are prone to motion sickness may I suggest watching a ride POV before deciding to ride it. If that makes you queasy, then skip the ride.

My problem is not having a focal point. If the car is rotating around, I am going to get disoriented. It looks fun, though, so maybe the dramamine could help.

Define "cave."

I've ridden it several times. I've never seen the movies, have no idea what the story is supposed to be behind the ride, but objectively, I think it is one of the most enjoyable roller coasters I've ever been on, and my coaster count is something like 55 or 56.

That said, I still think it has no place in EPCOT, and doesn't even come close to being relevent to the supposed theme of the "World Discovery" land

It's a fun ride, but wrong location. It should have been placed inside the existing Space Mountain at Magic Kingdom and Tron should have been at Epcot to tie in with a digital computing cyberspace pavilion.

Not the best though.

Guardians is far too big to sit inside the existing Space Mountain. And Space Mountain is beloved and can’t be removed.

While I don't think it fits at EPCOT, I also honestly don't think it's an especially good ride.

It's a fun roller coaster, but that's all it is -- they completely dropped the ball on theme/story. It botched the use of the Guardians IP. It wouldn't make my top 15 attractions just at WDW.

That's how I felt after riding it, especially after reading so many comments saying it's the best ride in WDW.

Yeah, I'm completely baffled by that take personally, but people like different things.

It's certainly not bad; it's a fine addition to the parks in a vacuum (i.e. putting aside location etc.). It's just not close to being one of the best rides at WDW for me. I also think Mission Breakout is a better Guardians attraction (in terms of actually capturing the IP well regardless of anything else).

That may be, but the travesty of Mission Breakout was it ruined one of the best rides Disney ever built.

It didn't, though. The DCA version of Tower of Terror was significantly worse than the one at Hollywood Studios.

Not that I'm a big fan of them retheming attractions like that, but it wasn't really a major loss. Losing the WDW version would be.

It still did. Everyone knows the Orlando ToT is the best version, but the DL version was still better than Mission Breakout.

Cosmic Rewind is the best ride in Orlando, so yeah, I caved a long time ago.

It also gives "Wonders of Xandar" in the park itself so I don't think it hurts it.

The ride experience is basically the Big Bang Coaster with music.

That's not to say it's bad, because it isn't -- but it was a weak effort from WDI. The coaster itself is quite good, but the imagineering around it... not so much.
