Any chance this Splash Mountain retheme is cancelled?

If Disney fails to increase attendance with these "investments", wouldn't that mean they're losing money? As in, the cost of the change does nothing for them except waste time and funds.

Also I do believe that what we saw with SWGEs opening might be a sign of things to come because Disney has been providing underwhelming experiences lately.

Agreed. I should’ve worded it differently, I just meant these changes aren’t having any noticeable negative effect. I definitely think they’re not getting their money’s worth.

Bob Iger and Co. probably think they’re doing God’s work by making the park “more Disney,” and probably think that’s having some sort of positive effect. They also care about opex far more than capex, which is why they’re cool with spending billions on Star Wars lands and then cutting entertainment. I’d love to see inside the Bob’s minds and how they think.

So from the Orlando thread it seems like there's a chance theirs gets delayed indefinitely/ possibly cancelled

I would love if at least one US Splash Mountain is saved. However, I feel kind of cursed since my favorite rides in each park (Tower of Terror and Splash Mountain) get changed in the resort that I live 30 minutes from, yet the Orlando ones get saved. At least that means there is a version I can ride without traveling overseas, but visiting Florida is extremely expensive compared to having a Disneyland AP and driving 30 minutes.

I have a small amount of hope that the Disneyland Splash gets saved. At this rate, I would be surprised if Disneyland reopens this year. They can't possibly justify doing an unnecessary retheme of a beloved attraction when they have been losing so much money during the closure.

Plus, how can anyone think that retheming one of the most perfect attractions ever created is a good investment when most of Tomorrowland outside Space Mountain continues to rot? The first priority for Disneyland should be fixing Tomorrowland. It is like DLR fixes what isn't broken while leaving the broken stuff rotting. Improving the Backlot area of DCA should have been a priority long before changing Tower of Terror and Paradise Pier.

Disneyland gets the crappy overlays now, so that seems unlikely.

WDW gets more original attractions. They could transform the stale Tom Sawyer Island into a whole Princess and the Frog land.

I've mentioned this before, for those pursing writing in to Disney regarding the proposed changes and any other issues -

Don't waste your time sending a email to Disney's various email accounts.

DO instead hand write or type out a actual letter and mail it in a envelope, addressed to a actual person.
You WILL get your letter read and it will make a far better impact in this way.

Keep it short, direct, and professional.
'Ranting' and being rude won't accomplish the task of conveying your thoughts properly.

Go at it, folks.
It WORKS.

Give me a name and an address. I'm gonna do this, and I'm gonna have everyone I know that cares do this as well.

Start by sending one to whoever the current Park President is at Disneyland Resort.
Is it Josh now...?
So much going on , I can't keep the names straight between the coasts lately.

Address your letter to him with Disneyland's official mailing address.

You can also send mail to Burbank addressed to the Bob's if you dare....as well as key people of influence at WDI's address.

All of these can easily be looked up online...I don't currently have the list typed out.

Go for it..and remember to be professional and to the point.
Even if you don't receive a response, know full well your letter WILL get read.
This is why it is important to address it to a actual person, and not just 'Guest Relations' or the resort / company in general.

If you send them your email address included in your letter, you may receive a personal response, but don't be disheartened if it turns out to be a 'canned' sample like the ones shown here up-thread.

Good luck, and let your voice be heard!
