Another Uni. vs. Disney threads? Yes

Disaster does not go around on a track, it goes forward, you watch an effects scene from Earthquake and then the ride goes backward to the start.

Is a circle a requirement now too? I guess this isn't a ride either... it goes forward and then backwards from which it came

OK. So I worded my post wrong. Yes, I rode both Minion Mayhem (Loved it!) and the Simpsons (wanted to love it but could not keep my eyes open). Throw in the disorientation of MIB and Rip, Ride, and Rockit and my comment on the Drammamine stands. Still, loved the themeing and I actually thought US had the edge on IOA as far as holding my interest for the entire day without feeling you had to re-ride in order to get your full day's worth. That being said, the chicken sammie at Mel's Drive in was the worst thing I have ever bought at a theme park to eat. Something to be said for King's Island having Chick fil-A, me thinks. Now, let me add that we had a great time at IOA as well, even in the rain, but after riding Hulk, Spidey, FJ, JP, and Cat in the Hat, we pretty much were left to re-riding or walking around Hogsmead (not a bad option).

Disney > Universal. But not for long, Universal is on the rise.

If Disney doesn't answer back with at least a new e-ticket by the time Universal builds Potter Phase 2, JP Expansion, KidZone Redo, Transformers, and the Simpsons then Universal is in the lead.

So I will bite on the whole Disney vs. Universal... From what I think are comparable rides...

USF
Despicable Me > Star Tours
Shrek < Philharmagic
Rip Ride Rockit > Rockin' Roller Coaster
Twister > Stories of Jack Sparrow at DHS
Mummy > Space Mountain
Disaster > Backlot Tour
MIB > Toystory Mania/Buzz Lightyear
Simpsons < Star Tours
ET > Peter Pan
Woody Wood = Goofy's Barnstormer
Terminator > All Disney 3D shows

IOA
Cat in the Hat > Winnie the Pooh
One Fish Two Fish > Dumbo/Triceratops Spin/Aladdins Magic Carpets
Carouseussel < Royal Carousel
High in the Sky Seuss Trolley Train Ride > People Mover
Poseidon Fury
Dragon Challenge > Any disney coaster
Flight of the Hippogriff > Barnstormer
Forbidden Journey > Anything Disney has created
Jurassic Park River Adventure = Pirates of the Caribbean
Pteradon Flyers > Barnstormer
Popey's and Blutos > Kali river rapids
Dudley Do Rights < Splash Mountain
Spider Man > Anything Disney has created
Doctor Doom < Tower of Terror
Hulk >Any Disney coaster
Storm Force < Teacups

So for me personally a bulk of Universal's attractions are better (in my opinion) than Disney's.

At least I think it did, it doesn't actually go in a loop, does it?
This doesn't make sense... Sorry. A motion simulator is as much of a ride as a dark-ride is. You RIDE it. It isn't a show, it isn't a walkthrough... What do you classify them as? And it has to go in a full loop to be a ride? Um....

Okay i condensed this with my main problems...

Despicable me is not immersive like star tours at all... you sit into chair and you looks at a screen. In Star Tours you are fully immersed into the star speeder to the point that the screen looking like a window is really well executed. I REALLY don't understand how Despicable Me is better than Star Tours even with Star Tours' ride combinations.

Second concern, aren't all Spinners the same...

Star Tours is filled the brim with Jar Jar-level "humor" in the queue and pre-boarding video. That alone makes DM a better attraction, in my eyes.

For me, it is a tie between Despicable Me and Star Tours. And no, One Fish, Two Fish takes it to the next level in the fact that you have to listen to the song to know when to control the vehicle and avoid getting wet. Its probably the only spinner that I actually have fun on...

You almost kill Jar Jar Binks in the ride. That alone makes Star Tours a better attraction, in my eyes.

my opinion is i love both resorts im a dvc member who has been to universal the last three times i ve been to orlando... we re going to disney next june (2014)...to me right now both are the best resorts in the world but universal is closing the gap and has a lot of momentum going right now with HP 1 and 2, transformers, JP, and other expansion ideas.... disney will begin to do better when they decide to do avatar in DAK and Cars land in DHS

Yes, but I still think Star Tours is better for several reasons:

1. Better queue
2. Better ride
3. Better IP
4. I'm a Star Wars fanboi :p
I love Star Wars, but I despise the prequels and everything associated with them. Star Tours 2.0, to me, has too much in common with the prequels than the original trilogy, and that bias is absolutely why I will never acknowledge it as the superior version of the two ST versions.

And honestly, I think the preshow in DM is superior. The guests tutorial with the minions does a great job engaging the audience, while ST is, more or less, an airport. The robot employees are mostly a fail, humor wise.

I hate Episode II with a passion, III is great, and actually, I don't think Episode I is bad. Once you get past the bad actors, political stuff, and Jar Jar Binks it's pretty good. Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, Anthony Daniels, Ian McDiarmid, and Samuel L Jackson played their parts great IMO.

I disagree strongly that Revenge of the Sith is anything except bad. The actors mostly sleepwalked through their performances, Ian McDiarmid was guilty of excessive overacting and "orgasm face" too often, the effects were clearly CGI and didn't blend well with the practical sets (the few of them), and Vader's first moment is one of the most hysterical bad examples of drama I've ever seen.

Watch the Red Letter Media reviews of the prequels. They are the most thorough dissecting of those films I've seen. Even Ebert (RIP) applauded them.

I should have said good. Don't get me wrong, most of the acting sucked, but everything else was pretty good (except the NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO). At least we can be glad the prequels launched Ewan McGregor's and Natalie Portman's careers.
