Another things wrong post

Kids wanna see Elsa and Mickey. Disney marketing still works, even if their parks are turning to garbage.
I get that. It was more a response to your Hawaii trip. I see it a lot on these boards. People will opt for a beach vacation or an all inclusive versus visiting other parks.

That’s exactly how I feel. I took a very nice trip to Hawaii recently for less than the cost of this trip. And enjoyed it infinitely more.
Honolulu can be affordable if one knows where to drink and eat , just ask the locals or google is your friend.Staying two blocks to the beach , a 5 min walk is cheaper than staying beachfront. Nice part of swimming and sunning at the beach - it’s free.

Disney is (or was) typically inviting for folks wanting to have a relaxing time... Designed with EVERYone in mind... babies, toddlers, kids, teens, adults, and elderly... Most other parks are geared towards teens and young adults. Universal Studios and Six Flags feel like a "Go! Go! Go!" Rather than a "Go! Okay now, watch a show... Take a break... Enjoy this long dark ride... Go again!!" It was designed perfectly.

Going other places has that same sort of feeling Disney once had, but places like Universal do not.

Thank you for your report Wonders, and I'm sorry you had the experience you did. For future reference, I had a serious issue with the AC and not being able to go lower. All you need to do is call the front desk, and they will send maintenance to the room and unlock it. Took about 10 minutes for them to get there, and housekeeping (what little there was) was given a notice by the front desk to not touch the thermostat for the duration of our stay.

Can’t imagine why one would need AC below 68 degrees. Just returned last night from a week’s stay in a 2BR unit at OKW and rarely set the temp below 69. But to each their own I suppose.

Just got back. This was my family’s first trip in 3 years. We were going almost every year for decades. I didn’t want to believe everyone on here as to how bad things have become, but it’s all very true. Broken everything, terrible customer service, overcrowded parks, dirty hotels and rooms. And outrageous pricing.

All of us in my family agreed that we just would rather stay home. And it’s not even about saving money. We would just rather stay home, period.

We just returned last night from 7 nights at OKW. I must say that we had a completely different experience than you. The drama in your post is hilarious. “Broken everything”, “terrible customer service”, “overcrowded parks”, “dirty hotels and rooms”. Not sure what broken everything means. We had almost 100% great customer from hotel check-in to the every other day housekeeping to the bus drivers to cast members at the parks. Cannot think of one negative experience let alone something I would call terrible. Overcrowded parks? Not at all. Saturday afternoon was busy in the World Showcase but we knew that was going to be the case and we hopped elsewhere. The packed viewing for fireworks Monday night was a bit much for our daughter but certainly didn’t ruin anything. In fact, using the early entry benefit and getting into the park around 8:15 at Epcot, we rode Test Track, Mission Space, Soarin’, Living With the Land, Nemo and Figment before 11:30 with no Genie+ or Lightning Lane. We then ate lunch, rode Ratatouille, Three Cabrellos, Guardians and Spaceship Earth before leaving by 3:45. We purchased Genie+ on just one day at Hollywood Studios. As far as the hotel, we all thought it was very clean, especially the grounds which we all thought were immaculate. The rooms were very clean and beds super comfy. There was some wear on the couch cushions and one cabinet door but certainly nothing I would refer to as dirty. I suppose if you want to first fault, you can find fault with anything. Aside from the heat and the extra souvenir of COVID for two of us, the trip was a success.

You know that not everyone has the same trip, right? It's entirely possible the other poster had a different experience from you.

You wanna talk about being dramatic.. boy 😂😂😂

If somebody claims “broken everything”, they should provide a laundry list of things that were broken which had such a negative impact on their trip. Did I see some things that were not working, sure. But nothing that would ruin my trip. I believe that if one is looking for the negative to complain about, they will find something to complain about.

A bit rude tho
I assumed at least one person here would respond needlessly rudely. If someone wants to have a conversation about something, I’m happy to. But if someone just wants to be rude to a stranger on the internet, I have no interest in engaging.

I could provide a laundry list but I think all of the issues I’ve experienced have been talked about on on this forum. “Broken everything” was clearly hyperbole, but the fact is, nearly every attraction at these parks had at least a few bad show elements.

The problems that used to be rare and surprising 10 years ago are now just commonplace and expected. It just didn’t feel like we were “guests” but instead walking, talking wallets. It felt like Disney is testing how little they can provide before guests get ticked off.

You have worded this much better than I. Exactly what I originally meant in the first post. Sadly.
