Why would there be? There was no alternate theme presented to discuss.

Yeah exactly, which is why you saying all those numbers surpass those who want the old theme back is irrelevant.

Look at me.. breaking my own rules I set for this thread

Except there were scenes before the drops. And there were no scenes on the drops because it was a 1940s elevator so it would make 0 sense if there were screens

No, I get that... Point being, if you're creating a story for a thrill ride, maybe a story that necessitates putting all your scenes ahead of the actual thrills and doesn't actually weave them together isn't quite the best approach.

I don't like Mission Breakout more than ToT because of this -- but I do feel it does a better job of blending show with thrills than ToT did.

I still think the DHS ToT is the worst of the Towers.

In my personal opinion, I believe the TOT at DCA should have stayed the way it was. The theming in the lobby was particularly fantastic. Last time I visited GOTG:MB I noticed that some of the decor was just repurposed TOT leftovers... I was incredibly disappointed by this.

However, I’m probably biased due to the fact I love both the Twilight Zone and Haunted/Creepy attractions.

I don't think its a weak attraction, just the weakest of the Towers. DCA's was my favourite, so Paris too must be as they are the same. Tokyo's is awesome, but a little more cartoony. The DHS is a blast, but I do prefer the faster paced attraction that came after the original. There's an intensity and growing doom that I feel in the newer versions. I also much prefer the false drop with the floating/dropping elevator rather than the window morphing into the window from the opening and breaking. It feels like the better ending to a scene.

While I appreciate the technical marvel of the trackless 5th dimension room, I feel its wasted as the effects/scenery in the 5th dimension room are pretty corny and dated. Plus, I hate the amount of time and shaking it takes for the car to settle into the drop shaft after passing through the starfield door effect. Its like building up to a big magic trick and having the magician take a pause to readjust their hands and gimmick before the "Ta-Da" moment; it just sucks the intensity from the ending.

I also love how the future versions of the attraction have you start/end in the same place with the same bellhop.

Story-wise, I think they cleaned up the subsequent versions as well. The original has narration in the elevator about us going into an episode of the show. But we're already in the hotel. And in the elevator. Is the elevator taking us into a TV show? But the floors are hotel floors. A minor nitpick, but its there. The newer versions frame the entire experience as if you are in the show. They also switched out a lot of the show imagery with imagery which supports the ghost story. So instead of it being about entering an episode of The Twilight Zone TV Show complete with floating elements of the opening credits, its about the ghost story of the hotel and uses the show as a framing device.

I totally understand people who prefer the original. I did until I went back to DHS and realized that it felt badly paced and not as effective to me compared to the version I had been riding more recently. There is no arguement the queue and facade are miles better in Florida, but as for the on-ride experience, the newer DCA/Paris/Tokyo ride systems are better executed IMO.

You're gonna make me cry. I miss the DCA version.

I haven't been to the DHS one in over a decade but I hope to go back and re-experience it soon - before another possible god awful change is announced by the glorious $hapek regime.

The Tokyo one is the best of the four towers. The effects and story are well done and the detail of the building is far better than the the other three. It's sad that for the price they spent gluing macaroni to the DCA tower, it could have had the detail and story of the Tokyo one.

Have you been to the Tokyo one?

I prefer DCA’s TOT more than any of the other four towers. My favorite would have been Tokyo Disney Sea’s due to it’s unique story and beautiful architecture, but the drops there seemed to have toned down. Most likely for a local audience that prefers less extreme movements.

A few years ago. It's exactly the same ride mechanism as DCA except reskinned. The boiler room with the crates of artifacts is pretty cool. The disappearing tiki and animated stain glass window is cool. The outside of the building has more architectural interest than the plain DCA/WDS versions. I think it's a better overlay than MB or generic TZ versions.

Looking at the poll numbers, only 36.8% thought it was an improvement. The other 63.2% either didn't care or saw it as a downgrade.

Nice! I didn't realize it was the same layout! One day i'll be able to visit Disney parks across the globe :)
