So, Brave? Toad? Mary Poppins ya'll?

;)

Another week. Another round of guessing and speculating to commence lol
I'm not sure what's Tally-Ho-lding them back. There's toadally one wildly clear and obvious choice here, and all this back and forth is going nowhere in particular. I think our insiders expect us to go to hell and back before any solid info comes hopping into view.

...am I banned now? That's fair.

I really hope Brave isnt in favor, due to the fact that there's a possibility scotland might split from the U.K.

I can just see them being too lazy to even adjust the naming of the pavilion.

No more or less chance than Quebec splitting from Canada, yet they built the replica of the Chateau Frontenac in the Canada pavilion! That must have been at the height of the break-away momentum.

Seriously it's off the cards just now, until at least Brexit is, ahem "sorted out", or done at least. My namesake was sent a pretty clear message a couple of months ago, and they're starting to refocus their efforts for now.

I would complain that this tangent into 80s pop culture is off topic, but I'm afraid that would mean returning to people naming every Disney IP remotely related to the UK over and over again.

:p
How about a Christmas themed Mr Toad's ride, set in the 80s, where Mary Poppins floats in to save him from Hell, and then they all have tea and honey with Pooh bear on a flying magical bed? It could work!

One of my favorite parts of the UK pavilion was always the quaint little toy shop that had the Mr. Men and Little Miss books. Just one of those nice unique touches that Disney unfortunately doesn't have any more. I believe it is now a shop for UK Bands merch (Beatles, Rolling Stones . . .), which still fits the theme of UK pavillion but lacks that authentic charm.

For the new attraction, I could see a simple Poppins carousel working well. Of course, a Toad ride would be really cool but probably won't happen. In the end, I would rather Disney do something small but appropriate than something larger scale that overly dominates the pavillion.
Agreed. I bought my daughter Charlie and Lola books in that shop.

With all of the princesses and other crossovers in the new Wreck-it-Ralph movie, a ride experience like this may not be too far fetched in the near future.
For whatever that's worth...

They also have Monty Python and Doctor Who merchandise. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.

Fun anecdote- On Halloween night at Epcot in 2013, I'm in the Tin Soldier looking at the DW merch and striking up a conversation about Who and other nerd topics with some guests who are also perusing the Doctor section. At that moment, a young pair of guests walk in dressed as the Tenth Doctor and a Weeping Angel. We just stop, look at each other, and go, "That's awesome."

I LOVED Return to Oz lol. It was so dark and weird. But I love the original Wizard of Oz more. I was obssessed as a kid. I'm very disappointed to lose that scene when they gut GMR :( It always brought a smile to my face.

In a perfect world, Imagineers will incorporate the Munchkins set, along with Scarecrow and the Cowardly Lion, into the new 'Runaway Train'. The perfect connection is this scene from 'A Christmas Story'. Mickey interacts with the Oz characters, much to Mickey's chagrin ! The new '2.5 D' effects would really wow the crowd and be a great tip of the hat to the defunct GMR. :)
