When asked about Figment, Bob Chapek said that the project has been on hold since 2003 and he looks forward to never giving it a second glance in the future.

The Figment merch still flies off the shelves so I'm sure he sees no problem with the current state of things there.

Irony is that it was supposed to be an Avenger (Capt. America) coaster, but Ops sent it back to the drawing board for not having a high enough capacity. That sent the delayed replacement to coincide with COVID.

So, in it's place, we now have a capacity of zero.

That means the current plan is “under budget”.

So avengers land is a stripped down Spider-Man version of midway mania and a street show where they toss a mechanical dummy into a net?

Anyone at WDI can design a MP flat ride. It’s hardly groundbreaking. He didn’t build a ride system with his erector set or anything.

I was thinking the same thing. Hard to imagine a scenario where they'd need to rehire someone to finish a project.

This is Chapek. If we get anything, it will be MPR. I actually really enjoyed it and Emily Blunt is fabulous (and perhaps closer to the book version) but Julie is incomparable and far too iconic in the role. It was an impossible task.

On the other hand, I adore LMM but he just isn’t the best vocalist. I wish he’d stay on the creative side.

…but anyway, the problem with returns is it was a straight up remake…or the “Disney brand” remake…

Where they “change” everything…so fans can scream ORIGINAL!!!…but if you split screen it, it’s a total doppelgänger.

Like step in time and the lamppost scene.

At some point, you have to question if they’re that cynical or think everyone is that stupid?

And, I thought LMM was good in his part. His singing was supposed to be a bit "off" when compared to Blunt's. Seemed a good pairing to this bird.

I would agree...The MPR was tonally a perfect fit to the tone and style of the original film, and everyone was very good in it... It is just a shame that there was a first version to compare it to...It was a lovely charming film...and how nice that it wasn't a cartoon or a superhero movie for once...

It was indeed highly derivative of the first film but I suspect many would’ve been angry if it wasn’t so clearly a Mary Poppins movie. It was a hard task after so many decades, but I appreciate it nonetheless.
