There used to be a river tour at AK. On this tour you could see things like a sleeping dragon, a dinosaur and a mysterious bubbling area, etc. The question is: Are these things still there? and Are they visible from elswhere in the park?

I got to thinking that maybe the sleeping dragon was transferred to DLP for their Sleeping Beauty Castle...

From what I remember the dragon never existed like it did in the concept art. There was simply a large rock with holes in it that fire shot out of. That rock is still there. You can see it off to the right when taking the bridge into Camp Mickey. Over near Dinoland there was a large iguanodon statue in the water. I believe that has been removed.

Here is a picture of the dragon rock

EDIT: Here is a link to an article with a few more pictures.

If I'm not mistaken, the rock out of which fire was intended to "shoot" is roughly shaped like the head of a dragon.

Does anyone know the fate of the Iguanadon? (And why would they bother to remove it simply because they ceased to operate the Discovery Island Riverboats?

I went on that ride. You waited a long time in line to board a boat that took you to essentially what you could see yourself just by walking along the water way.

The dragon (flame-thrower) from the cave is gone now, but the cave itself is still there.

That Iguanadon, as I was recently told, was also removed.

I would like to know what mysterious bubbling area you're referring to...

OT: There is a small house near the rocky dragon to CMM. Any idea of what it looks like at its side view?

True. Never was a dragon, he got cut along with the dead knights that were to litter the area.

It was between the dragon area and the bridge to Harambe. There was fog and the water was extremely bubbly, like dangerous gasses escaping.

Removed long ago. I heard at one time that he became an "organ donor" for other AAs.

So this is the Iguanadon! I like this style more than the statue in front of Dinosaur. Wonder what other AAs did he donate the "organs" to...

IIRC, the Bubbler was located where shown in the pic. It could be seen from the smoking area behind the DAWA bar (red sight line).

Interesting! Guess I will have to take a look someday soon! :D

They should reopen it, and have it as a prehistoric Jungle Cruise
No they really shouldn't unless they plan on adding a whole lot. It was incredibly boring. It is one of the few attractions that I can think of that was shuttered solely for the reason of guests complaining about how dull it was.

I am afraid of the other attractions that were closed thanks to its "boringness".

COP is a 200 mph roller coaster that lights your shorts on fire in the middle of a 2000' cork screw compared to the Discovery River Boats.
