Animal Kingdom Lodge or Car. Beach?

So I just called AAA and for 5 night stay in late April, there is only a $100 difference between the 2 resorts? I never stayed at either. I've visited AKL and its nice, but I know how everyone seems to love Car. Beach... Any thoughts or opinions?

Wow...only $100 difference...go for Animal Kingdom Lodge!!! I've stayed at both, and while Carribean Beach was nice, Animal Kingdom Lodge is our all time favourite!! I wouldn't even think twice! So much more to do at AKL.

Even if you had said there wasn't such a small amount difference i'd say AKL. I have stayed at CBR and loved it but reallly want to stay at AKL Savannah.

Wait, do you mean $100 a night or $100 total for your stay?

Actually, I'd prefer a Caribbean Beach lake view to an AKL parking lot standard view. Make sure you know what you're booking.

Your comparing apples & oranges here. AKL is a deluxe resort as CBR is a moderate. By all means, if you can afford the extra $100. take AKL....

Also, Wilderness Lodge tends to be around the same price as AKL. Are you interested in that? I would do WL over AKL.

I had the same question. I figured with that small a price difference, it's probably standard/parking lot view of AKL vs. preferred view/location at CBR.

Difference between me and thee is, I'd still take AKL. Prefer the rooms, the theming, the amenities, plenty of lookout points to see animals if you don't have a savannah room, realy good bus system, close proximity to zebra domes ...and of course there's always the slim, unlikely, remote possibilty that some Disney Magic will come your way & you'll get upgraded to a savannah view.

Though we will always have a special spot for CBR (it's where we stayed our first trip) AKL would definately be our pick! We've been lucky to stay there twice and each time we were magically upgraded to a Savannah View! We adore it. DD has put her bid in to stay there next trip.

Thanks for all your thoughts... unfortunately when I went to book AKL, that great rate wasn't available any longer, so I book Car. Beach instead.

I leave in 8 days!! Nothing like waiting until the last moment!!

You're definitely going to love CBR.. I've stayed here 3 times and have never had a bad experience . Hope you have a great trip!

Wow...only $100...how'd your agent get that great of a deal? Kudos to them! I've never stayed at CB; I've never really wanted to. However, that's just me. It's supposed to be very nice. I would definitely say AKL. However, try to get the savannah view. Have a great trip!!!


Awww... I just read that you couldn't get the AKL rate. That's so sad! However, you'll still have a wonderful time because it is WDW!!!
