Where has it been said that would happen? I don't think so but I would be happy if proven wrong. It seems like that hat will probably never leave at this point.Because it will likely take the BAH with it for starters.

Iger has done a great job with every Division of the company. I think his last act will be to put his stamp on WDW for the 50th anniversary. He has taken the steps needed to allow the full expansion of WDW. The infrastructure is now in place. As has been post elsewhere concerning the employment issues and the limited labor force in central Florida, next gen takes care of that. TDO can now use the technology and have the same number of cast members and staff a major expansion. Next gen was needed and is working. Just look at the lines yesterday for the star wars magic bands at $30.00 each. I wish I was there because I would have bought both of them. I wonder what special bands they will have in September when I am there and then in December and April 2015. Then there is the cost savings with check ins and those pesky credit card transaction fees. That is tens of million in saving and then of millions in profits. I wonder how much longer it's going to take for some people to admit they were wrong about the it.Little things like not removing the hat contribute to me staying away. Hopefully the new CEO will put more emphasis on the aethetics of the parks at WDW. They are losing revenue by not listening to the customer more.

And back to the Disney Parks Division wait until Shanghai Disney opens. I and many others expect a year or 2 after it opens it will be the highest attended Theme Park in the world. Yes ever higher than our beloved Magic Kingdom. That 5.8 billion dollar investment will provide profits for other Disney Parks expansions and hopefully more international expansion and more domestic expansion. Give Iger credit he may have taken longer than we would have liked buy you can't say he has not built up the Disney Parks Division.

Agreed. It's such a no brainer we must be missing something.Bare with me, but why is Disney so reluctant to build a Star Wars area? It almost seems like a no-brainer. Even a Half- a**ed version would bring in guaranteed crowds. The SWW prove that.
As for the soon-to-be empty building, The attraction turned into a dud; and even when open the building was an eyesore. Still, I'm not sure why everyone is so happy it's gone without an announcement of something new- it's now one less thing to do in HS and one more reason the park is a half day experience.
Time will tell and it won't be long. I have tremendous optimism. Look at what he has brought into the company with Star Wars and Marvel. Look at the movies they have come out with. The entire company is doing well. The Disney Parks Division besides the new Shanghai Disney has the cruise line and that is growing rapidly. The only park having trouble is Paris and the economy over there stinks. I would like them to build a DVC over there which might help. I know many here hate DVC but it makes a huge profit. The only thing left for him to rank just behind Walt is 3rd gate at the Disney Land Resort and the WDW expansion and restoration of Epcot and DHS. I would like it all and a 2nd expansion in AK near Asia being based on Australia and the Americas and of course the 5th gate but that is not needed for his ranking. Walt never lived to see WDW and so Iger does not have to continue as CEO to set the course. He can leave the plans and let his successor finish them just like Roy did.stamp or stomp?
I believe he didDid you just compare Bob Iger to Walt Disney.......?
I didn't read it that way at all...said it would put Iger second behind Walt as CEODid you just compare Bob Iger to Walt Disney.......?
I can't believe that I just "liked" one of your posts.Little things like not removing the hat contribute to me staying away. Hopefully the new CEO will put more emphasis on the aethetics of the parks at WDW. They are losing revenue by not listening to the customer more.
I got it from the last line. Inferring that all Iger has to do is make the plans and then he will get credit for what his successor does, just as a lot of people credit Walt himself for everything in the parks.I didn't read it that way at all...said it would put Iger second behind Walt as CEO
Keep in mind that this building is literally right next to star tours.
and the entire area in question is very big... without changing the park perimeter

No one compares to Walt. I was only saying he could be second. Walt was the company but needed Roy for the finances and to finish the building of it. Since Walt, the job is only to keep the company going and growing.I can't believe that I just "liked" one of your posts.
Are you saying Walt should not get Credit for WDW? He did buy all the land. He did plan lots of it. Epcot may not be what he envisioned but cities from all over the world study and learn from WDW. That was his goal and it is being realized. Even he said that the plans for the Florida project would change and change again. He knew what he thought the future would probably be different than what it would turn out to be but he knew you have to try and he did. He was the dreamer and Roy kept his feet on the ground and somehow raised the money. I personally don't feel Roy gets the credit he deserves but he followed Walt's dreams.I got it from the last line. Inferring that all Iger has to do is make the plans and then he will get credit for what his successor does, just as a lot of people credit Walt himself for everything in the parks.
Unfortunately I dont think that would be enough room for multiple new rides/shows like you said. Sure I could be wrong thoughI though the new Star Wars area was going to include a re-theming of Sounds Dangerous and The Backlot Express Restaurant, with new rides/attractions in the current backstage/parade float building area, and be away from the 1930's Hollywood theming of the Sunset Boulevard area like this
