American Heartland Theme Park, Oklahoma

With the right programming and, dare I say, a price decrease, the park could work in colder weather, depending on what attractions and shows they have.

Branson is two hours away from there and corners the market on the Christmas holiday. Very few people would make a cold weather weekend trip around a single place like this with Branson and silver dollar city not far away.

The location is the problem. There’s tons of cheap land FAR closer to Branson that would siphon off guests. This won’t.

They recently posted art for what I can assume is a new attraction for the park.

Hmm, I wonder what this is supposed to be?

Let us know what song you think the "Critter Band" is playing in Bayou Bay.

Hmm... I'm keen to guess. I'll say: Der Hölle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen (the Night Queen aria from The Magic Flute [Die Zauberflöte]).

I am rooting for this to succeed. I posted previously that I wonder where they are going to get the workers from? Are there nearby towns to attract workers from?
I think this shows the location or pretty close so Tulsa is about 30 miles?

"Smell just awful", is a subjective opinion.

To me, its going to remind me of walking the halls of High School..... The good ol' days ;)
Wow in my High School days the smell would send a Principal or Teacher kicking in bathroom stalls and a trip to the School Board. At the Catholic High School you dont want to know how hard they came down.

This from Screamscape:

Things are not going smoothly with the proposed American Heartland Theme Park project it seems. I can’t say that I’m surprised, as the proposal was a bit ambitious for something they wanted to open by 2026. In our last update back in May 2024, it was reported that design firm, FORREC, had filed a $5.5 million lien against the developer over not being paid for their work to design and create the plans for the proposed park.

This week the local news has confirmed that all work on the project has been halted due to non-payment issues, with Crossland Construction now filing their own $350,000+ lein against against developer, Mansion Entertainment Group and OGB Holdings for non-payment. Meanwhile they have yet to resolve the lein filed previously by FORREC, so the bills are now stacking-up.

When people (and their dads) have "billions of dollars," surprising that they can't pay $355K.

Or... they realize they're in it for at least $6B and then, all of a sudden, a few billion here and a few billion there's starts to add up to real money, and they slam the brakes.

Hey, kids, wanna go to Lien Land?!

It's a shame...I was looking forward to this, though building a theme park in the middle of tornado alley never really did make that much sense.

I hope Storyville Gardens fares better.
