Last night's performances were ok. I really liked that 16 year old red-head boy, John Stevens. He has a real nice mellow voice and he sung a difficult song, "She's Always A Woman," that emphasized the tone quality. I hope the kid makes it.

I also thought the Hawaiian gal was good, Jasmine Trias.

Tramp...

Let me be the first to say you're a friggin' genius!:sohappy:

Both your picks are moving into the finals!:sohappy:

I wanna be just like you when I grow up!:p

(PS...My favorite, Katie Webber, will be back as a wild card contender) :sohappy:

i was actually a little suprised last night...i love John Stevens's voice, but i didn't think he would make it through. and i REALLY didn't think he would make final 2 (although, i was hoping he would). yay! my 2 faves from group 4 made it! :D

but i'm going to be on the edge of my seat for the wildcard show! I want John Peter Lewis back!!!! i'm keeping my fingers crossed that he'll be the wildcard!

the two that went through this week definatly deserved it, they were both good.

I am glad that bikini girl is gone, she screamed her song, and the only reason she got where she was is her looks.

Jennifer Hudson from CHicago (and of the disney cruise line!) deserves one of the wild card spots, she has a powerful voice and great stage presence. I think the wild card show is going to be really good, these people are definatly deserving of a second chance.

I too got totally into forever eden too, so I forgot to vote this week. oops. :)

oh yeah! i loved her! i hated that Simon always picked on her for what she wore...like the silver jumpsuit kind of thing...i don't really see what was wrong with it. i mean, sure, it wasn't something just anyone could/would want to wear, but i think it kinda worked for her and her personality. not to mention that it definately set her apart from the rest (as if her voice didn't already)

If you want to see some 'super' talent, tune into the NASHVILLE STAR competition on the USA network on Saturday nights. These guys and gals are a decent, humble, God-fearing bunch of people. Even the worst of Nashville Stars could make the Idol finals if it weren't for the redneck bias toward country music. These folks come from the Heart-of-America and sing with a passion unmatched in the Idol competition.

so get this, I had that show all set to record, and our DVR broke. so dish network told us that they couldn't replace it until tuesday, so I have missed many a-show that I wanted to watch. So next week, I can start watching it. but I have heard a lot of good things about it. and I love country music, and Josh from last seasons American Idol was one of my favorites, even though he was sometimes uneven in his performances.

the moral of the story is..don't sell TiVo and get dish network, even with the DVR included. Because DVR has a good chance of breaking, and TiVo never broke, and you are going to miss all of your shows. Can you tell I miss TiVo?

eh hem. I am ok.:lookaroun

tomorrow show of AI will be great, these 12 singers are going ot have a great competition, they all seem very closely matched.

kind of funny you mention that! i watched that today when i got home from school. i'm not the biggest fan of country music, but i like some of it. most of the people i saw on that show already have star quality! not only was i amazed at their vocal talents, but i was also amazed at how professional most of them seemed to be...almost like they were born on stage in front of TONS of people! you can tell that a lot of AI people don't have a clue what to do when all eyes are on them (and i'm one of those people!)
i really enjoyed the singers on NS that combined rock/pop with country...like the lady that sang the Janis Joplin song country style...pretty cool! and the lady that did Dolly Parton's song was incredible as well!
but i'd HATE to be those judges! that's gonna be some tough decision making!
i think i'm going to have to watch Sat. just to see what happens.

Which song was it? Faith Hill did a country version of Piece Of My Heart a while back and I really liked it.

The song was "Me and Bobby McGee."

The girl that sang it was Stacy Michelle.

One of the judges said, "You're a good singer, you sang like a country Janis Joplin - you did her proud on that song." :sohappy:

I'm not a big fan of country music either, Amy, but I think I should be. I never gave it a chance really, yet, I enjoy listening to it. It's so down-home music with lyrics that tear at the heart.
I watched the competition last year when Buddy Jewel won it. That guy has a great voice and it was nice to see Clint Black present Buddy with his first GOLD album.:sohappy:

Oh, and about the professionalism of the performers...all of the performers who were eliminated were VERY gracious. They thanked everyone for the opportunity to perform and proudly walked off the stage even though their hearts must have been broken.
You didn't see any of the snotty behavior like you see on Idol nor those arrogant attitudes about how the judges just eliminated the best performer in the competition.

You bet, Scotty...I hope she gives the performance of her life! Did you know Clay Aiken was a wild card pick and actually wowed the audience in the Wild Card round?:sohappy:

Katie is cute and $exy but I think I say that too much around my wife.:zipit:

For me, it really depends on how the performances go tomorrow night...BUT I've been a fan of John Peter Lewis since his audition, so I'm pretty sure I'll probably stay loyal to him ;) but, again, it just depends on how the performers do.

i havet really read this thread since it first started so pardon me if i repeat something someone else said already...
today on a commercial I saw that it is the wild card show week... the guy on the commercial said "Clay Aiken was a wild card pick, can this years idol follow in his footsteps?"
did i miss something? why does EVERYone refer to clay as the american idol? (i mean dont get me wrong, i liked him much better than ruben, but i thought ruben won)
