Americal Idol, OMG!

I think Matt and Camille made it because of personality. :) The redhead had the best voice, but Camille is such a sympathetic character to me. Who doesn't want the quiet pancake waitress to do well? She's so sweet. (Or so she seems)

oops, I think I said that wrong. he was ok and in tune on tuesday night, but wednesday night when he sang after he found out he was moving on, he was flat and way off key then.

and the song selections again were not thrilling. everyone seemed to take the safe road. boooooring. :snore:
When Matt sang on Tuesday night and he was first, I thought it was okay and I needed a few more people to sing before I could cast judgment on him. Well, by the time the recap rolled around, I realized he hadn't sounded that bad after all. I think the two of them were the right decision.

As for singing on Wednesday, it was obvious that it was very emotional for both of them. I don't know now Camille got through her song without bawling, and Matt admitted that he was on the brink of crying too. It's tough to sing and control your pitch when you are on the edge like that.

Camille as something inside of her that is busting to get loose if she will let it. I hope she finds it in her to let it go when the Top 12 begin--she has a great voice.

Next week? I predict Amy and Jonah.

*snort* I guess that was not the best choice of words....

lemme rephrase....

He is going to have to have an incredible singing performance that shows his vocal talent is just as good as his beatbox.

I will try to choose my words a bit better next time. :)

What a group! No one from last week would have made the Top 5 this week. We voted for 5, 7, and 8--Charlie, Leah, and Latoya. Too bad that someone is not gonna make it from this group.

I don't watch this show at all....but the local radio station played Latoya's song this morning...and I have to say...she blew me away. I got chills!

I voted for Amy and Charly. Eric sang, "In the Still of the Night" (one of my all time favorites) and I liked his version but I squirmed around in my chair with his torturous start. Latoya has a great voice but, to me, her 'sound' is much too common with other great, black singers I've heard thru my life....and I'm voting for something different.

Latoya will move on because she received high accolades from the judges and because she is a talented gal. I have to say, that Latoya, in my mind, blows Fantasia out of the water...I can't handle Fantasia's screaching.

Leah was, by far, the cutest....but maybe next year!

Amy! OY! ...the hair!

I missed last night's group, although I did tape it and will watch it today.

I really want Amy in the top 12. I just love that girl! How was she last night? I was really PO'ed too because this was the group I was the most excited about.

I thought she was great....but her performance was overshadowed by Latoya's gig...the audience loved Latoya, as did the judges. I think Amy was the best last night and she certainly was second best...so I think she'll make it thru.

Someone, in this thread, mentioned that they thought last week's group was a mistake, like they picked the wrong room in the preliminaries....I'm beginning to think that too.
