Am I just imagining this?

A silly question, I suppose, but I could have sworn that on our first trip in 2003, possibly our 2004 trip as well, there was an awning over one of the shops at MGM that said "Yous Goys Foin Moychindise" (sp?) But now, it simply says "Yous Goys Moychindise". I thought the "foin" was in there at one point because I remember my wife reading it as we went by. Am I just imagining this, or did it really say that, and they just took out the "foin" at some point?

I'm not sure. I only remember it being "Yous Guys Moichandise" and I don't think I have a picture of it prior to 2004 to check.

It could have had "Foin" it the name at some point. I'm sure that the shop has been lightly refurbed in the past so it could have easily changed names in the process.

When I get home I'll take a look at my old photos.

Here is the picture of it now, but like I said, I could have sworn at one time, it had "foin" in there.

Well, I tried to check my Birnbaum books, but I didn't see it in my '96 book (only one I have prior to 2006, post 1989). I checked my park map from '04, but I didn't see it there, either, although several shops had been left off.

I'm curious, too....I never seem to have that good attention to detail. :)

I do not ever remember it having "foin" in there but I could be wrong. I always noticed this sign simply because it makes fun of the way I generally tawk.:D

Like I said, I could be wrong, too. I just could have sworn I remembered my wife and I walking by there in 2003, seeing that sign, and my wife reading out loud "You's goys foyne moychandise". Perhaps she added the "foyne" in there herself, who knows. Or maybe I'm just remembering wrong.

Maybe your wife just added it in there to mess with you;) Sometimes I do that with my husband. I think he likes to be messed with, even though he swears he doesn't:lol:

I was thinking that the last couple times we went to the Studios, whenever we walked by there, and I mentioned it, that she also remembered the "foyne" being in there. But maybe I'm imagining that, too. When she gets done t__________g our son in, I'll have to ask her and see what she says.

I remember there being a "foyn" or "foyne" in there somewhere myself.

I am remembering a "y" in the "foyne"

Maybe they took it out because people were thinking "foyn" did not mean "fine" but instead meant "f'n" which of course is all the more authentic.

Edit: Maybe it said it on another sign now that I think about it. Is there a sign on the side that I am missing ?

:ROFLOL: When I first started reading this thread I was thinking "of course foyne wasn't there, it's Disney for goodness sake!" (thinking it meant f#*ing). But I think you are right because I think I had that conversation w/ DH while we were standing in front of it and he corrected me:ROFLOL::ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

I just looked at three pictures of the awning. They are dated 2001,2005, and 2007. None of them have "foyn" in the sign. Unfortunately, I could not find any from 2003 which I believe was when you said you remembered seeing it.

I guess I'm just imagining this then. Because I don't see why they would change it from what you saw in 2001, and then change it back after our visit in 2003.
