How much did it cost?

I dunno but it seems to me that one of the two is coming to USH. Monsters would make a lot sense at USH but Potter is the big money maker for them.
I can’t find how much just dark universe cost but I can’t imagine it’s worth giving up all the hype monsters builds up for Halloween horror nights in Hollywood.

I don't think Monsters would come to USH simply because that park already has a Kuka-arm ride in HPFJ and they wouldn't want to double up. I wouldn't be shocked if it is just Diagon Alley and maybe HTTYD.

I can agree here. Not to mention the land is sort of redundant in the same park with Wizarding World

Not sure I’m following. Are you saying one (year round) classic Monsters ride somehow steals the thunder rom Halloween Horror nights?

I’m saying that in universals eyes a year round monsters land with the associated merchandise might cut into horror nights profits.

When was the last time USH opened two new major attractions simultaneously? I’m guessing never. This is the kind of expansion and investment they need. Give us a 1-2 punch simultaneously. Help change the perception of the park quickly as opposed to the piecemeal approach of one new attraction every few years. They need some family friendly attractions too which no height requirements. I feel like if they add 3-4 more quality attractions with (hopefully two of them being family friendly) that would change my perception of the park and would be enough (+ the convenience of only being 20 min away) to get me to ditch Magic Keys and alternate with Universal passes every other year. And food. They need to work on the food a little bit.

HHN Hollywood steals thunder from itself. I’m an over 10 year HHN Orlando regular (haven’t missed an HHN since 25, or in California speak, 2015) went to Hollywood’s version for the first time last year, did a RIP tour and was profoundly disappointed.

The mazes were no where near the quality of HHN Orlando (only two story set was the facade, no complex scares only boo holes, no stilts, no wire work, the soundstages didn’t have giant curtains to break up the set.). In fact I will go out on a limb and say their sets are on par with Knotts. I tolerate HHN Orlando’s negatives, which Hollywood shares (congalines, no spontaneity from actors in the houses, expensive and incredibly crowded) because Orlando offers something (I can now offically say) cannot be found at any other park. The only thing that met Orlando standards was the animatronics and the shows. I will not be back, I’ll get my scares at Scary Farm when in CA. That is a very good value and offers a very different (but on par experience) then HHN Orlando. Due to their repeating house, I can skip a year or two at that event though, that’s its big downside.

@Phroobar did you ever go to Fung Lum? What a classic restaurant. Koi ponds and little bridges inside the restaurant. Wish it was still around.
YES! Right there on hill of USH. That place and the Victoria Station were so cool.

The site is now Universal One corporate offices.

As outlined in the NBCUniversal Evolution Plan, the site of the former Fung Lum restaurant is slated to be home to a new 500-room hotel. This would be one of two proposed hotels being constructed – the other being planned in front of the uniglobe entrance. (Woody Woodpecker parking lot)

Evolution plan includes:

  • The removal/replacement of Special Effects Stage, WaterWorld and the Gibson Amphitheater for future ‘new attractions’ -- done except Water World.
  • New attractions on the current site of the Tram Depot garage, Falls Lake, and Fast and Furious/Picture Cars area
  • CityWalk expansion in front of the park’s entrance
  • Two ’500 room’ hotels – one at the site of the former Fung Lum Chinese restaurant and the other in front of the park entrance (Fung Lum is now One Universal Corporate offices, work on the in front park hotel has started)
  • ‘Central Park’ in the former Wild West arena - done
  • A proposal to reevaluate county lines to incorporate most of NBCUniversal’s property within the limits of Universal City, California - I would assume done
  • Additional parking near Falls Lake, Fung Lum and an expansion of the current ET parking lot
Reading the article, it's amazing how much of it is exactly right. It either has happen or is being done now.
