True but fast and furious is bad for more reasons than it uses nothing but screens. also I actually like the King Kong ride.
Kong was the biggest disappointment at IOA for us. And that was even with a Fat Pass from Forbidden Journey. Great queue, amazing facade....veeeery bland attraction.
Sure but just from a legacy standpoint, USH needs a Kong AA and having one is better than not having one. My point is, of the two, kong would benefit more from being a practical focused attraction than Back 2 the Future and that Back 2 the future in general isn’t the first IP in their arsenal that I’d choose if I was going to focus on more of a practical attraction.
If they rebuilt the Kong experience from the ground-up, sure. But they can't just plop an AA at the start or ending, unless they are building a whole new show scene. The Kong AA in Orlando is impressive, but makes the experience even more lackluster as he isn't doing anything. He's just hanging out like he's on break. I'd hate to see Hollywood have the same ending.

A Back to the Future segment could have a Delorian on a Kuka Arm, real sparks, real fire, an AA dinosaur if they wanted to go that route. Ghostbusters could have some physical ghosts, a practical Ecto-1 "drive in" and blast at the ghosts. Either way, I'm here for a physical experience to match what we lost with Kong and the tunnel of rethemes.

Yeah I wasn’t advocating for the AA to be plopped into the current situation. I think Kong needs to be rebuilt at another location and an AA needs to be a part of that. Kong at USH has the benefit of not being a standalone attraction so expectations aren’t as high. Just give us some jungle sets, the 3d action portion and an impressive AA and it would suffice. Now what motivation they’d have to do that I’m not quite sure. Haha. Or maybe even go old school and have him destroying the city again. Maybe we have enough of the jungle stuff with Jurassic World.

Curious if this will effect this rides enter and exit procedure slowing down riders per hour.
Universal was found at fault because they didn't stop the moving walkway for the person to exit the ride.

For me the finale either needs to be King Kong with practical sets and AA or some really killer Monsters attraction (if they aren’t planning on building a standalone Monsters attraction/ land here). Something legacy Universal/ USH. Turn the current Kong attraction into something else that doesn’t really require or benefit as much from practical effects and AAs. Or another idea would be to do something where the movies came to life and showcase a little of each ET, Ghostbusters, Back2 the Future, Classic Monsters etc.

That sounds so dull. I've never seen an episode of Pokemon and thought..."wow, what an interesting world these characters live in. I wish I could step into that world." The dogfights are fun, but the world itself is dull and nothing that inspires me to visit.
I get your point, but the franchise has a bazillion fans worldwide (I still enjoy the main rpg games) and the monsters themselves are generally well designed and a merchandiser’s idea of Heaven. It’s up to Universal to come up with an appealing way to present it all to the GP. They did a great job of turning Mario’s obstacle-course world into something that works as a theme park land.

I imagine two ways an immersive Pokémon area could go: clean, beautifully landscaped future cityscape or the darker noir look of the Detective Pikachu film. Either way, it has to be bursting at the seams with Pokémon everywhere you look.

I’d love to see what they’d do with it. For me, it would be a welcome change from The Simpsons. And as others have pointed out, there’s already a well-loved literal dark-ride-on-a-track photo Safari game called Pokémon Snap that’s just crying out to become a real thing…

That and the first Switch game had Gym battles play out in actual stadiums full of spectator’s and would finish with the last two Pokemon becoming Kaiju size. You put a Pokemon Snap dark ride, a Pokemon Stadium special effects stunt show, a Poke Cafe and a place for meet and greets and shops and that land will literally print money.

Sounds pretty niche to me. Nintendo is a huge miss for me as the area feels like a lesser Toontown and the one ride is so disappointing.

To have another land themed to generic cartoon world with another AR-based attraction looking at cartoon characters seems like a very dumb move. Almost as bad as another Fast and Furious-themed attraction. Nobody wants to step into the world of F & F. It's just warehouses and urban decay.

I'd much prefer a version of the Universal Monsters land we are seeing at Epic. Or NYC with Ghostbusters and Ninja Turtle.

They definitely need something besides Harry Potter to draw me in and Pokemon is just doubling down on what we already have with Mario. I don't want more of the same,.
