THE 1HAPPY HAUNT

We haven’t even seen the figures in action yet, so therefore it is unfair to compare them to Sesame Street or Madagascar. You can’t really tell how these figures are going to move based off of photos. Also, we already know that there is a fairly impressive audio animatronic snowball in the queue, from this video here

also, judging by that press release regarding the “64 technologically advanced figures,” it seems that universal is proud of these AA’s, and if they were crappy plastic figures like in Madagascar or sesame, I doubt they would’ve released specific information about the amount of figures and motion in them. I say that we should wait until the attraction opens next Saturday for previews, and after I experience it for myself along many others, then we can all make the final judgment, but judging these figures before even seeing them in action to me isn’t very fair.

Jurassic Park, ET, and Back to the Future are all just as good as Disney's best efforts. Terminator 2 3D is a masterpiece as well. I deeply miss all of them.

It's sad that these attractions were replaced with inferior rides. I feel the same way about Tower of Terror as I do about the classic Universal rides. No idea why Florida which has plenty of space didn't keep T2 and Back to the Future.
T2:3D had become outdated, as well as it was in pretty bad shape (I think the license had expired as well). BTTF was replaced because it was felt the Simpsons would be more recognizable to current attendees -- BTTF had been quite a while ago.

I'm curious what makes you say it was outdated or in bad shape. The theater was always packed and the show was always well maintained. The license did not expire as it operated until 2016 in Japan.
The theater was packed (sometimes) because the number of shows had been reduced. Also the screen had become torn and sagged. The motorcycle often didn't work. The 6 films became difficult to synch up because of age (none could be spliced or they would get out of synch). It was the next-to-last polorized 3D show at USF (only Shrek remains). The upcoming expiring license meant it didn't make sense to replaced all the broken elements. (And lastly, the Terminator movies were tanking at the box-office)

Thank you for the informative post. I was not aware of these issues and appreciate the breakdown of what happened. I suppose Salvation doomed USH's and Genesys doomed USO's T2.
I wonder who doomed Magic Mountain's? Dark Fate? Which seems to be the theme for the park.

I’m hoping that Universal could bring Universal Cool Japan into Hollywood with anime Overlays like Waterworld switch to One Piece, Fast & Furious Supercharged switch to Lupin the 3rd, Dreamworks Theatre temporally switch to Sailor Moon, Gundam to temporarily replace Transformers, etc.

Visitors would understand through the park map plus anime has a huge popularity in Los Angeles which Universal Studios Hollywood could be the second park to hold this event while being the first English Universal park to have this event.
