Saw that this morning. And yet they still haven't posted park hours beyond Jan 31. Are they usually this stingy with info?

It's California. Other parks that aren't even open the full year can post their full operating calendars for the entire year in January, but it's just too hard for California parks to figure out when they'll be open more than a month from now  .

You see it at DLR and Knott's too. It's constant and irritating.

At least Disneyland has been consistently keeping the next 6-ish weeks posted, adding to their calendar one day at a time. (Though being able to make dining reservations 60 days out without knowing park hours for that day seems a little silly)

Just watched a pretty good AR-included ride-through of the USH Mariokart.

Regarding the AR as seen in this video, my favorite bit is the way the piranha plants look like they’re shooting fire across the track. I’m really looking forward to experiencing this ride in person. It might not be the most thrilling attraction in the world, but they’ve captured the chaotic feeling of the game quite well.

Disappointed Hollywood’s otherwise-fantastic queue doesn’t appear to have the grand staircase/entry chamber, but getting the Yoshi queue as overflow is a nice surprise bonus.

I love the queue’s little nod to Moo Moo Meadows, the best racetrack in the history of racetracks. Oh, yes it is! 😄

Land looks cool but MarioKart is just meh looking....Imagine if disney used this ride system for the new king Thanos ride in avengers campus. It's not even hard of a stretch, slowly moving through cityscape themed environments, seeing marvels characters in the ar goggles and using buttons to fire.... People would be crapping on it. Now imagine that was the only ride in the land...A 4 minute long slow moving videogame ride...

Land looks great and food too though!

So many hundreds of amazing details in the queue…

Bowser’s throne… This is so wonderfully hilarious, sweet, and creepy as heck all at the same time.

In fairness I haven't been on Mario Kart yet, but while I take your meaning I can't help feeling we'd be lucky if Disney were to embrace something as tech forward as AR for the Avengers ride. It seems like a good fit insofar as a means of depicting the large cast of characters the ride purports to have.

It would definitely be more convincing than flat, 2D screens.

but avengers isn't a video game and mario kart is, it kinda makes sense for the mario kart ride to be a video game

What’s the point of the reservations for technical rehearsals when you soft open a month in advance of the Grand opening and before the reservation required technical rehearsals? When they soft opened the land last Thursday I thought it was a random one off thing. Then they opened the land again yesterday and I thought for sure they wouldn’t open the land on the weekend as people are off work and would come flooding the park. They opened it today too… in the rain. Might take my chance on Tuesday and head down there. Seems nice and empty on these soft open technical rehearsal days. Not sure if I’ll be able to say the same for the reservation required technical rehearsal in a couple weeks.

Usually just to get a feel for it and training purposes. I've worked new locations that didn't have soft openings to the public but we usually soft open for employees.
It's different to have things written on paper and in theory vs actual practice

Makes sense. Just didn’t think it would be every day… and it may not be. It’s only been three days. Still don’t understand the distinction between the soft opening to the public and the reservation required technical rehearsals for the public. My guess is the soft opening is fewer people compared to the amount of people they have coming in on the reserved days. They re just ramping up. Or maybe they finished sooner than they thought and got ahead of MMRR opening up down the street first.

Universal always does this. They will set up a reservation system for something new, but soft open it anyway.

I say go for it.
