Wrong. Technology when used correctly is welcomed.
They can’t afford it. This ride is exactly what they can do with proven technology. You want Dinosaurs, which is old tech. Anyways, Universal’s upgraded Jurassic World ride will actually have less animatronics. The final Dinosaur battle is actually fought on screens. Even King Kong’s fight with Dinosaurs on the tram ride is on screens. Kingdom of the Dinosaurs will never come back as it was. If it does, you’ll see it on screens.

From what I've been reading from insiders, jurassic world will still have the same amount of AAs. Only the final scene is screen.

Also, comparing knott's to universal is pretty poor choice, since universal is infamous for their love of screens and are just realizing having too many are bad vs. knott's, which is trying to still have physical rides and AAs even after Iron Reef.

Consider this: if dinos (or bears) are so expensive, then knotts wouldn't be doing giant AAs in their upcoming ride.

Anyways, enough about dinos and bears. This is about knotts after all, not just those two rides

I am gonna miss bigfoot rapids but sooo happy about the updated refurb the ride is getting especially the new AA's. This is what should have done with Kingdom. Now I miss boomerang but HANGTIME looks like a welcome addition to their line up of coasters. I can't wait to ride itm as long as they leave MONTAZUMA alone we are cool

Why are you telling me to not compare Knott’s to Universal when 1HH has compared Knott’s to Disney, Universal, and Dubai as the poor man’s kmart Iron Reef? 1HH thinks it’s so horrible even though 1HH loves Knott’s. You really can’t believe such nonsense.

Whether Knott’s add AAs to their next attraction doesn’t mean Knott’s should or would bring back Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. This would satisfy 1HH. Bringing back dead and destroyed attractions somehow makes sense in this debate.

Knott’s Iron Reef is a good attraction. It’s too bad that bringing up the past with Bears and Dinosaurs to tear up its present was presented as esteems Knott’s. It doesn’t.

Universal having a screen for the final battle isn’t exactly a good development. It’s next Pets attraction is rumored to be all AAs. Still, choices were made for a screen ride for Iron Reef. Knott’s is neither about screen rides or animatronic rides. Just that harping on Iron Reef means Knott’s will drop everything to bring back Kingdom of the Dinosaurs according to 1HH.

I would never call Iron Reef a "good" attraction. Its not the worst thing I've ever ridden, but its pretty barren and lifeless. It has a ton of potential and if they had more moments and fewer screens it could be entertaining, but as it stands now, I'd rather ride Storybook Land than Iron Reef.

What moments? It’s a fast paced screen shooter ride. It has a nice preshow where it incorporated Knott’s backstory. It’s not an off the shelf attraction. The ride had a good introduction in the beginning after the first curtain before the action began. The multiple screens kept the action going. It doesn’t make sense to stay at any one screen too long.

Of course you’ll like Storybook Land. That’s another Disney ride that costs multiple times more money than anything at Knott’s. BTW, Knott’s have the kids train ride to compare with Storybook Land. You’ll pass some Peanuts character cutouts. Do you also like Legoland’s Fairy Tale Brook boat ride? That’s almost the same with much cheaper budgets.

Its a slow voyage past screens showing something like a bad 2000's arcade game like House of the Dead. Just mindless things continuously coming at you to shoot. I never saw a preshow or anything. I know the backstory from what was advertised when showcasing the attraction, but I didn't really see that integrated other than Knotts Easter Eggs in the background. I think the design of the first 2 rooms are great, even if not enough occurs in the first room, but after that its all downhill. I'd rather than the screens enhancing the environment rather than being the entirety of the environment.

I should enjoy a high adventure shooter with steampunk influences more than a ride past tiny models on a slow moving boat. Storybook Land bores me. But lifeless tiny models are more exciting and have more charm than Iron Reef. Boo Blasters at Castle Park is far far far more enjoyable than Iron Reef.

The preshow room is hard to miss. If you focus on the screens, how can it be slow? You're already said previously there should be fewer screens. If it's a screen ride, how can it enhance the environment if the screen serves to be the environment? You're still focused on the screens.

This picture was from Yelp. It's in the queue while waiting.

Whatever, Knott's has it's charms elsewhere. Like I said before, pretend it's closed for another 11 years.

I've never waited in line for Iron Reef, so I've never spent any time in that room. The few times I've ridden, the ride has been a walk on. Can a screen in a queue really be considered a "preshow?" That's like saying the screen in the Space Mountain hallways disclosing the safety information if a preshow.

And its slow because its boring. Its mindless and doesn't engage your senses. Midway Mania at least has set pieces you whirl past and different types of environments and gameplay with combos available. Iron Reef is just a long slow ride through the same basic looking backgrounds with busy looking things to shoot ad naseum. There should be physical AA's to shoot, sets to experience, practical effects, and screens to open up the gameplay/world beyond the set. Like I said, Castle Park, a small C - level park has a much more enjoyable shooter attraction. Considering how detailed and interesting KOTD was, we know Knott's was capable of giving us a much more interesting experience.
