Nope, went through the normal queue and told to keep moving by employees. Wouldn't call that a preshow.
So you say. I guess you never noticed the screens and the bad CG that reminds me of cut scenes from the House of the Dead arcade game. That was most of a preshow than TSMM has.

First, when you said you bypassed the preshow of Iron Reef, only you did it. I never bypassed it. It’s as if your experience is normal for everyone else. Comparing all Disney attractions is somehow normal to compare to Knott’s. Many rides have FP where you quickly walk pass the preshows like Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story Mania where you don’t see the Buzz or Mr Potatohead spiel because you’re walking past it quickly.

Every chance you get, Disney is used as comparison. This has never changed. Knott’s isn’t Disney.

My experience has been the norm every time I have visited Knotts. Mr Potatohead is viewable from the walkway moreso than the queue and the queue is beside it/behind it except the entry point. Buzz you walk past and see a little bit of his show. I wouldn't point to Buzz as a particularly strong attraction either.

And so far Iron Reef has been compared to Ninjago (Legoland), Battle for Metropolis (Six Flags), Ghost Blasters (Castle Park), and Kingdom of the Dinosaurs (Knotts Berry Farm.) Somebody enjoy cherry picking data over there? Look, if you like Iron Reef, that's fine, but don't get upset when others point out how the ride doesn't measure up to Knott's quality nor is it an enjoyable experience for them. Seeing as I'm always rushed through this supposed "preshow," I'm thinking the ride isn't all that popular.

Nope, I just saw the bad CG in the attraction itself. TSMM is far from the gold standard. They do create a brief preshow type experience in the attraction where you learn how to use your blaster or whatever it is called. Once that room is done, you move into the attraction proper. It works for what it is, a ride themed to playing carnival games.

Overall, my favourite shooter is still MIB. Midway Mania is probably number 2 with Battle for Metropolis a close third.

Your normal becomes everyone’s. Exactly what I said.

I only said Iron Reef is similar to Ninjago in ride technology. Every comparison you did is about DISNEY DISNEY DISNEY. The wish thinkers apparently think hating Iron Reef will bring back Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. That’s their delusion.

Cherry picking continues. You can’t help yourself to point how great Haunted Mansion preshow is. Then go to Disneyland. Problem solved. Even so, you’re perfectly united to not complain about Disney’s flaws with a slight exception to say you now think Buzz is a little less.

You should enjoy Knott’s for what it is. Saying how terrific Disney is just weird. Go to Disney. Leave Knott’s alone.

And then I compared it to Ninjago. And I also compared it to Ghost Blasters.

And no, I don't think Knotts is going to bring back Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. I just compared the two because they were both Knott's attractions which occupied the same space. One was immersive, filled with energy and movement; whereas the other one is baren and flat. Knott's isn't going to turn back the clock and bring back a dead attraction, but hopefully newer attractions will be more ambitious and not as lazy and lackluster as Iron Reef.

I never said anything about how great or terrible the Haunted Mansion preshow is. I simply mentioned you can't accidentally walk past it. You can't skip it with a fastpass. There wasn't a judgement, just stating a fact.

And finally, I have said many times, so I don't think saying it once more will get through to you, that I like Knotts and appreciate their own charm when it comes to their well-executed attractions. I don't expect them to be up to Disney standards. But when an attraction is below their own standards, I'll express my disappointment. As I said, you can like Iron Reef all you want, just don't be upset and claim"not fair!" when others say that Iron Reef doesn't live up to Knott's quality.

You shouldn't compare Knott's to Disney. They are two very different parks. But you can compare Knott's to itself, and its clear that Iron Reef isn't one of their shining jewels.
What's the matter with you? I fixed your sentence. You have been comparing Disney to Knott's from the beginning to ridiculous heights. Keep trying. I enjoyed Iron Reef and it's a terrific Knott's quality attraction, something that you don't appreciate because you spend so much time comparing it to Disney.

I'm more excited to see Calico Rapids than I've been for anything Disney's done in recent history. Makes one wonder why they didn't invest in animatronics for Grizzly River Run instead of redoing Tower of Terror or Paradise Pier. Surely it would have generated more buzz as I likely would have planned a trip to DCA just as I'm planning to visit Knott's again this summer.

Anyone eat at the Ghost Town Grill? I've been wanting to eat there. Any good?

The food is actually good the service is always pleasant.

the restaurant itself is a bit rundown its almost as if they are letting it run down and accumulate dust and spiderwebs to fit the theme.

the sitting area straight ahead from when you first enter is the worst. it really needs a good scrubbing.

with that said i eat there every time i go but avoid touching anything before i eat. the nearest restroom to wash your hands are thru the picture shop and by the American Indian show area.

And those restrooms are the nicest in the park. They totally redid them, a total gut job. They did remove the back doors. And now facing the Stagecoach loading area is a set of Family Restrooms.

So for the main set, clean and new, and for parents, only one way out for the kids, so much less chance of getting lost.

The Iron Reef is a large building for which the ride only uses the top level. Knott's should have been more ambitious and thought about using all that space - incorporating larger sets and height differences throughout the ride - rather than keep that arcade on the bottom floor. Move the arcade out into the marketplace where it can earn money without people having to pay an admission fee. It always stumps me that theme parks have large arcades; who in their right mind wastes the time to pay to play a machine that is available at like a local bowling alley?
