Unfortunately it was going to happen. Had more adults took their kids and the park was busy they probably wouldn't have changed it. For some reason adults seem less interested in these type of events. It's the same for my local park, it's owned by Cedar Fair, I rarely see adults there. So effectively they've neutered the chaperone policy.
Sad to say, but I envision in many cases that as soon as the parent enters the park with their complementary ticket, they'll immediately ditch all five all offspring, who will then carry on as if the policy doesn't exist.
Makes sense. I feel like Haunt events in general double down on the obnoxious young people demographics.Unfortunately it was going to happen. If that's the direction they go in the future, I'd be very pleased, though I don't think it would be particularly successful unfortunately. The two new mazes weren't gory but more Stranger Things creepy and fantasy. I think we are going to see a shift towards more story telling mazes like Grimoire and away from Wax Works. However, I don't think it will ever get neutered to the point of candy trails like Disneyland.
"Chaperones must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park during their visit, and be available by phone throughout their stay. Guests ages 17 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be subject to ejection."So effectively they've neutered the chaperone policy.

Except they still need that chaperone in the park. They still need to give contact information. I guess if your an irresponsible adult raising the next generation of hoodlums then I guess you would walk in and out but that would be effort that most irresponsible adults don't have.So effectively they've neutered the chaperone policy.

As of today, the Chaperone Policy will only be implemented on a "as needed" basis. Likely will be implemented for Spring break, summer and holidays and Scary Farm
I don't think it's sad. Outside of the Knotts Scary Farm there doesn't seem to much of an issue with teens. IMO it's more unfortunate that people view it the way you do.Sad that they had to drop it, but it was expected. Those rowdy teenagers are their financial lifeblood. Knott's is in no real position to change their market like Disneyland is in.

That has nothing to do with it. The current season doesn't need it because kids are in school. Knotts does perfectly well without the rowdy teenagers. It was packed during Christmas and Halloween times. Teenagers are NOT their lifeblood.Sad that they had to drop it, but it was expected. Those rowdy teenagers are their financial lifeblood.
