All things Knotts Berry Farm

Why do say thank goodness that they cancelled the Giga coaster? It would be a great addition to the park

Knotts already has some good coasters, now it needs another high quality darkride or two. Adding yet another giant coaster to muddy up the area with supports and noise only worsens the park. Ghostrider was great application. Silver Bullet harmed everything around it and Pony Express left a huge blemish on Calico River Rapids.

I disagree. I think the problem many have is they want Knotts to be more like Disney and less like Magic mountain.

Yes, we would like the park to be more like what is considered the top theme park company rather than an amusement park which receives constant criticism for poor design.

I haven't been to MM in a decade or so. The last time I went I got bored since the only rides seemed to be coasters. There were no palate cleanser attractions really. After 5 coasters in a row, I just wanted something other than physical thrills.

Knotts was a great park and can be again. But adding a giant steel monster over Ghost Town's skyline isn't going to improve the park at all. I would have preferred if Pony Express had taken over for the stagecoach route. It would have been more pleasing for both riders and people walking about the land. Or even if they had actually integrated it with Calico River Rapids instead of just building a giant floating tunnel over it.

I am very happy the giga is not happening.

I think Cedar Fair is smart enough to let Knotts follow it's own path. They know it doesn't need lots of coasters. However, it does need some infrastructure upgrades. They are wise to give us live entertainment which Disneyland doesn't do anymore.

They need to get Buena Park to make some civil improvements to Beach Blvd and the surrounding area. Either finish that damn Butterfly building or turn it into a concert entertainment complex.

I may the only one but I LOVE Pumpkin Eater and hope it survives.

Ditto for The Depths and Dark Ride.

Dark Entities though? Bye, Felicia.
My guess is Dark Entities and Pumpkin Eater are not long for this world. Dark Entities has the shortest line while Pumpkin Eater is at the opposite end of the park with nearly no line.

I think it's because Pumpkin Eater is so awesome that it has survived this long. On a normal rotation that thing should have ended already. I too will be sad to see it go, but maybe they just gussy up a sequel. I vaguely recall there have been sequel mazes, so bring on Pumpkin Eater 2!

Lines are a bad indicator at Scary Farm, the location of the maze has a lot to do with its wait time. In fact, I would hazard that location is THE main factor in wait time.

Just read the press release and they sure make it sound like this is the last year for Pumpkin Eater and Dark Ride.
I'm not surprised but mildly devastated nonetheless.

Two of my favorite haunt mazes ever down in one fell swoop.

Also, holy smokes have those Scary Farm prices shot up across the board from what they were in 2019. And once again I'm out of luck if they ever had Scary Farm passes for sale at any point.

I'll miss Dark Ride but I think it is time to say good bye to those two. Dark Entities is right next to the Paranormal Inc barn. However, it's entrance is on the side instead of in front. Maybe that is why the line is so short. People miss it.

I remember last year just happen to be in the park on opening night. I bought a ticket two hours before it opened and had no problem getting in. It's the later October nights that sell out.

Both of them have been around pretty long. They were both introduced in 2017 so they're the oldest out of this years line up.

And for anyone curious what the PR said that makes it sound like its their final season:

Pumpkin Eater: "Enjoy one last slice of terror as this legendary journey through a colonial nightmare comes to a horrific end."

Dark Ride: "Escape quickly, as the ol’ carnival ride is about to be shut down for good and with it any chance of ever getting out alive."

I remember the previous maze before Dark Ride was based on the Snow Queen (Frozen). Basically Elsa goes crazy and freezes everyone in Arendelle. It had glass floors where you could see frozen bodies.

And prior to that, it was more of GOT style winter maze.

I miss when the two Ghostrider area mazes fed directly into one another. I remember exiting Dominion of the Dead into Delirium. I also really miss the Blacklight mazes in the Bumper Car arena.

Most likely the case then, though the past two years they were very explicit in saying "yep, this is Paranormal's last year." "Yep, last year for Special Ops" etc. If those were 100% going, these descriptors are like 80%.
