Went to Knotts this past Saturday for the first time since the restrictions were lifted and man what a difference from the previous 2 visits

The "Relax Zone" in the Mystery Lodge queue is now gone since masks are not enforced outdoors anymore. There are signs at every indoor entrance to stores, arcades and dining saying that unvaccinated people that are not exempt needs to have a mask on however this is done on an honor system and they weren't checking to see who was vaccinated and who isn't. This doesn't apply to indoor rides such as Beary Tales (which had broken down multiple times) and the Mine Ride. If you've been vaccinated I'd keep the card in a wallet just in case. I also did carry my masks with me just in case but ended up only having to wear it once

The Calico Saloon got its indoor tables and chairs back both ground and 2nd floor of the saloon. However they were still having the line that was to the right of Calico Park as the only line to get drinks from the Saloon.

Wagon Camp Theater now back to its normal operations. Previously ushers during the restrictions escorted you to a row and made sure you were kept apart from other groups and emptying the viewing area after a Krazy Kirk show involved dismissing by sections. Stunt Show still isn't back but I suspect it'll be soon enough before we hear of the Stunt show returning during the the daytime.

A good amount of workers still wearing masks while others weren't.

Felt slightly busier than the previous 2 times but nothing too significant to notice even with out of state visitors now allowed. Food wasn't an issue getting and when I went to Sutters for dinner there wasn't a line and got my food immediately.

Starbucks in the Marketplace at the end of the night didn't had a line and I was able to get my first boysenberry Frappuccino which was delicious!

At Camp Snoopy I did see some Maze Construction for Pumpkin Eater with a pumpkin facade being visible from the Camp Snoopy Stage if you look closely enough.

Been seeing the lighting ceremony in different locations each visit. This is the best photo I took out of the 3 times I’ve seen it

I might have missed something in this thread, but is there a reason that Knott's continues to require reservations? Is it just to save on staffing costs?

Also, how have the lines been at the park lately? Knott's is a nice park, but the horrendous and slow moving lines made it my least visited of the LA/OC parks since they handle crowds the worse and the crowds are usually unbearable outside weekdays.

Since social distancing on rides has ended, the lines move quicker. All rows and seats are available to be filled and they are no longer spacing or restricting guest to only ride with their travel party.

Don't go in with the expectations that Knott's rides has the same efficiency as Disney or Universal attractions and you wont be dissapointed.

As for reservations, I have no clue as to why they are still using them. From what I have seen at the park they do not look short staffed at all. I really hope they drop the reservation system soon.

They likely are still having issues with getting enough staffing and food supplies to reopen to be able to reopen to 100% capacity. Just because they are allowed to do so, doesn't mean they can logistically do so overnight. It will take time, but they will get there, but in the meanwhile reservations will be needed to control capacity.

It isn't just staffing, remember they have to be able to get enough food into the parks on a daily basis to feed everyone coming in.

I went to Knotts today and had a great time. We stayed for about 6 hours and rode Excellerator, Calico River Rapids, Mine Train ride (way way way better than i expected) Beary Tales, and a few others. Weather was perfect, wait times were all about 30 mins. The cheap season pass is def worth it, Knotts is a great park imo. Again, that mine train dark ride is great.

If you plan to go a lot, get the dining plan. You can make out like a bandit.

Why are they doing it in july not in october? don't they now when Halloween is?
You can't announce Halloween plans in October, you need to announce in advance. Most Halloween conventions occur over summer. I'm heading to a spooky magic convention in Baltimore in August. None of us would have time to do such a convention in Sept/Oct as its our busy season.

Hopefully the announcement will be detailed and not just vague, though I imagine the latter is more likely.

I'm trying to decide between Halloween in Florida or California for October, and anything they announce that might sway that would be helpful. I probably should do Florida, as I've never done it for Halloween and the time zone difference is more favorable, but if they announce they're, say, getting rid of Dark Ride after this year, than that might sway me back to California.

If it’s like before, the initial announcement won’t be much.

Just announcing the dates, maybe 2 of the returning mazes, the scare zones and when tickets go on sale.

The full maze, scare zone and entertainment lineup generally is saved for the end of August when they have the full fledged announcement at Knotts.

I imagine that Dark Ride (2017), Pumpkin Eater (2017), and Paranormal Inc (2015) will be having its final season since they were the oldest mazes in the 2019 season

The loss of Dark Ride and Pumpkin Eater are precisely what I anticipate and dread.

I would love to believe they have more of a shot because Paranormal is older and has lasted, but I don't believe most people have the affection for PE and DR that I do.

I'd far prefer that they remove Dark Entities, which for me has never really worked, but I imagine that's unlikely.
