Very Unlikely I know but could TDO and OLC be working together here???

My only concern here is how hard is it to turn Daytime Floats into MSEP style Floats???
I highly doubt they're working with OCL at all, probably just buying floats from them like they did for FoF, I'm definitely curious how they're going to change that Peter Pan float to a nighttime float, and are we going to get the marry Poppins part in the front too?

If people only knew the truth about this parade.
I've been wondering based if this is not as much a nighttime parade with tons of lights in the vein of MSEP and SpectroMagic and more of a regular parade with lighted panels a la Nightfall Glow from Tokyo personally. Not that that wouldn't be cool but it would be sort of a let down

Ehh, the concept art clearly shows it's a legit nighttime parade and Steve has been telling us for a while it's a nighttime parade, I wouldn't be to worried.

Wait, is this new information that we're getting floats from Tokyo? From which parade?
First shared on this thread by @RescueTheDay, but I just found out personally, so that's why I'm sharing it now.

I don't want to speculate on things I don't know, as Steve and @ToTBellHop have provided the best info on this parade, but knowing that backstage work is happening to accommodate these floats is a good thing, at least in my opinion.

I personally see no reason to be worried about the quality of it.

LED and fiber optic lighting are not big asks in 2024 as the technologies have been used on floats for nearly a decade. If Disney wants to be "ahead" they'll look into projection mapping as a newer float lighting technology.
Do you mean like projection map a float as it's going by cause I have no clue how they would ever do that. I think what's more likely is they utilize the castle projections in Main Street projections as the floats are going by.

Why ominously post like this and then just not elaborate
Indeed! What is the Truth drew81?????? Or Steve if he knows something!

That it's fake News that MK is even working on this???????

We still don't see the Permits for the Lighting Upgrade. It may not be directly tied to Starlight and not rumored till Jan 2025 but still....

EU now has a Deadline. TDO should have as well and be held to it!

If any part of TWDC Cann this So Help Me...........

Projection mapping technology, like any other technology, evolves. Scalable Display Technologies and 7th Sense had a booth at Infocomm 2023 with a technology of projection mapping on moving 3D objects.

A little more on it here: https://7thsense.one/story/showcasing-unscripted-live-projection-mapping-moving-3d-objects

A short video here:

Scalable Display Technologies has some work on its website related to parades but not specifically projection mapping. But together with 7th Sense it's at least something that could further develop.

For a few reasons ideally the projector works from the float vs from a distance, but I don't think we've seen an indication that we're there yet. It's a technology that could have more immediate use in an attraction or live show with fixed spots, but it's worth at least knowing the technology is evolving and could have more applications in the near future.

I mean that's great and all, but I don't think that works for a parade at all. For starters we have no place to put projectors throughout the entire parade route to even accomplish anything like that. And that doesn't even take into account that parade floats are much larger than that. And will have performers on them and parade float drivers in them. So yeah we're not even remotely close to being able to accomplish anything like that on this scale, at least yet.

Who is going to do the soundtrack of this new Parade at the Magic Kingdom?
We don't have much information at all about the soundtrack. @ToTBellHop has indicated that there will be a version of baroque hoedown in the soundtrack similar to how it's featured in Paint the Night, although who knows if they're still doing that or not. Also why the sad face?

There was a patent a while back from Disney on projection mapping moving objects and one of the examples was a parade float. I wouldn't expect this parade to have huge reliance on projection mapped floats tho.
