Sorry jt! DD is sick, so I have been checking in sporadically...but now she is feeling better, so game on!!!

I really like how you explored 'transportation' in such a full way! In all of the different forms, attraction types, and experiences while sticking to a central message!!! There is definitely a little something for everyone! If only....

I have totally enjoyed your installments!!!

**I don't dislike jt04's ideas. However, I'd rather the building maintain it's shape and simplicity from the front, without the obstruction of a new monorail station and connecting room. I don't see the point in adding a new monorail sation inside the park; I like the unobstructed views of and from the monorail. I'd rather it be kept simple. I would like to see Disney rework the front entrance area into a futuristic transportation hub where the buses, monorails, parking trams, etc. all fit in together nicely. I really hate how the area is set up now. It should almost be a futuristic Town Square, if you will. The (expanded) monorail station and transportation hub could hide Spaceship Earth from Guests' view until the last moment, like the Train Station does for Cinderella Castle in the Magic Kingdom. I really feel that, in an ideal world, the central corridor from the Monorail Station and entrance complex all the way through the Fountain of Nations and Innoventions should really put the Community back into Epcot. Epcot needs a "Main Street," too.

Thanks, I thought you were not responding because of my Pixar "Cars Talk" idea. I love that title if I do say so myself. There is a TV show called "Car Talk" and well, cars talk, as in the cars are talking and "Cars" is the name of the movie. Sorry, a bit of a tangent there.

Thanks! Hope you do well on your studies.

Ah, most clever! :) There's also a radio show of the same name, I might add. ;) Overall, I think its a very nice plan. The Pixar stuff will be great for the little ones, and then theres the homage to WoM and a look into the future of transportation to appeal to us park enthusiasts.

One thing I will say is that I agree with wickedfan07 on the layout, particularly with the monorail. I just don't think a monorail station would look right in the middle of FW; I think it'd just stick out way too much. And the double station thing (one for an exit, one for boarding) would be a bit redundant, IMHO. I love the other stuff attraction and theme wise, but that monorail station... I just don't think it would look right. However, love the idea of a backstage look at the monorail; that would fit in perfectly to the whole transportation theme. :)

Just to clarify, the monorail station would appear to be a part of the building. The way I see it is the roof line of the mono station would be curved and lighted similar to the edges of the communicore buildings. The "new room" roof line would be slightly higher, the atrium slightly higher than the "new room" and the original building slightly higher than the atrium. So the whole structure would resemble a kinda wedding cake or step pyramid form and retain the original rounded appearance. It would all apear seamless from the outside and could be covered with "space age" materials and lighting effects that create "motion". That stainless steel siding is starting to show it's age. I understand what you mean about a huge new monorail station but I think it would blend in very well. In fact it would be difficult to tell it was a monorail station except by the signage that advertised it as an "Express Monorail" to the TTC.

I think the idea of a transportation hub in the Epcot parking lot is great. Different new mass transit technologies all converging in a "grand central station" like hub would be very nice.

My entire plan is designed with cost in mind. The whole reason I came up with the plan was to show EPCOT Center ideals could be brought back without major disruptions and within a budget that does not take funds from other WDW projects. That is why I didn't conceptualize it with any major new dark rides etc. All my changes could also happen without any long downtimes for Test Track or the monorail for that matter.

That said, I still like the ideas you both have come up with. A lot of cool ideas to think about. Thanks for your feedback!:)

You know, I can just imagine how nice this grand design of yours looks in your mind, but I cannot, for the life of me, visualize this clearly. Like the whole atrium and wedding cake design... my brain can't compute! Its nothing against you, really its not; its just the scope of what you're doing/describing... I just can't see it clearly in my head. :(

Sorry about that, basically think of The Land, with a monorail running through it like the Contemporary. Without drawings it is tough to describe. It's not your fault

The "atrium" is just a very narrow curving canyon like space between the new and original building that test track would pass through. The track would remain exactly as it is now. The buildings would not touch except possibly with a long skylight roof.

The only connection between the new and old buildings would be an elevated hallway or gangway (see pic) that connects the new building to the lounge in the original building for Cars Talk. Think of the Turtle Talk theater. Same thing, different theme.

The 2 story odyessey building replacement is entirely seperate construction.

The step pyramid/wedding cake look would just be the shape of the roof covering the mono station, new building, atrium and old building under one roof as seen from the communicore building.

Here are some quick pics I found, the first has a "wedding cake" type design, the second shows the rounded lines of a communicore-esque design and the third shows a tiered building. So if you morphed the 2nd and 3rd designs you would be getting close. Basically a rounded and tiered design. Hope that helps :wave:.

Probably just made it worse.:p

PS- the reason you would not really see the monorail station is the same reason you don't see it at the Conteporary from the outside of the building. Same idea basically.

Thanks, it was fun! The overall idea just popped into my mind I just filled in the details. I picked the wrong carrer I think. Shoulda been an architect. :hammer:

Jt...Gonna amend my plans for EPCOT to fit in your WOM. :D

I thiiink I can get to a scanner this weekend...Maybe tomorrrow:shrug:

Very cool!

Wouldn't it be amazing if Disney built a software game that allowed peolpe to "Armchair Imagineer" different parks including existing ones.

Thanks and can't wait to see the results!

It was called Disney's "Ultimate Ride", and really isn't as good as RCT3.

I was thinking more along the lines of the Disney parks already rendered in 3-D HD and you could go in and do removals, additions, and even refurbs virtually. You wouldn't have to start from scratch.

First task in my reimagined world, goodbye SGE.

Second, the hat.

Just rode Spaceship Earth, no major noticeable changes. Valentine's Day edition Figments are for sale at Cento... *cough* MouseGear and ImageWorks. About to do Kim Possible again.
