The technology of the laser was invented by Dr. Parsons so we will call it THE ALAN PARSONS PROJECT!:drevil:

Who helped produce "Dark Side of the Moon".

I believe we have now gone full circle and there is nothing left to talk about.

Except Epcot's future! :sohappy:

The Return of World of Motion

OK- Phase 5, The Final Phase :sohappy:

One of the things I noticed looking at aerial maps of Test Track was just how close it is to the Odyssey and to create a full fledged "Transportation of the Future" pavilion it would be necessary to use that land. So Odyssey would have to go and a new building put up in it's place. I think a 2 story building would be necesary because of the small footprint. In fact in my plan the 2nd floor would actually be larger than the first floor to increase floor space.

The 2nd floor would be "The Future of Flight" and contain my D Ticket for the Pavilion with "Test Track" an E Ticket and "Cars Talk" a C Ticket. The new 2nd floor would have displays about futuristic airplane designs such as single wing concepts and other cutting edge designs real and conceptual. But the big attraction would be individual flight simulators similar to the Space Mountain simulators at Disney Quest. As flight becomes totally automated everyone will be able to fly their own planes. The simulators would allow people to experience an automated "highways in the sky" flight or other experiences such as the racers in the Red Bull racing series where you fly against others in a virtual environment.

The 1st floor would showcase transportation by water. This would include displays about futuristic ship transportation such as giant catamarans and hydrofoils but also ships designed for recreational transportation including models of the ships Disney is building for it's cruise line in the future.

And I have not forgotten I said I figured out how to produce revenue from the lagoon. Simply add Radio Controlled boats that guests could navigate around different obstacles and this attraction would blend right in with the 1st floor theme. This attraction would be a kind of Epcot version of the shooting gallery in Frontierland or the arcade in TL.

The only subject not covered so far is personal ground transportation. The Test Track post show area is perfect for this. Chevy could showcase all the futuristic technologies they are working on. Hybrids, plug-in hybrids, and electrics like the soon to be rolled out Chevy Volt. I think it would be great if they were actually testing a Volt on a dynomometer right in the pavilion. They could even compile data on how effective solar panels are in providing the power to the vehicle and analyzing cost per mile etc. Perfect situation for Chevrolet to prove they are relevant and will stay so (hopefully).

So that is it. I plan to cut and paste (and edit) these different "phases" into one post in a few days.

I am now taking a sabattical from "Armchair Imagineering". Just wanted to prove that the original concepts of EPCOT Center are still viable and can be produced on a shoestring. There is really no excuse for letting the ideals of the original Future World slip away.

And I hope this inspires others to throw some ideas around. If they won't build the Epcot we want it's fun to conceptualize it. I will be happy to add constructive criticism and I always welcome it from others on my ideas. This has been fun, thanks !

Have an optimistic future. :)

Thanks you have been a great crowd.

Good night, and remember, optimists don't need luck! :animwink:

You know that if you read this thread and listen to Dark Side of the Moon at the same time it will synch up.:p

I have always wondered how it would sync up to SSE. Especially the song "Brain Damage"...

....and everyday the paperboy brings more:lookaroun

....I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.:lookaroun

And the new descent could be argued as a metaphor for a lobotomy:dazzle:, in a manner of speaking. Think about it.:lookaroun

Fantasmic work! Why can't this be real!?:o

:sohappy:

Are you in an position to apply for an Imagineering job?

jr04,

All I can say is AWESOME!!! Can't wait to read phase 4!!!

Wow, jt04: quite a bit of thought there! Eagerly awaiting the next installment!

Thanks , but I noticed there has been no feedback since I added the pixar attraction:ROFLOL:

Just wondering about what you all think now that I have finished and your general impressions of the overall ideas. :veryconfu

There's nothing wrong with Pixar and when used properly is an easy way for Disney to "market" something (attraction, show, etc.) The "new" Epcot has characters (& mouse ears) - we just have to come to terms with that! But characters are not all bad and if that's what brings in the people and the money... then I say bring it on! Disney is using it's franchises to brand itself now!

I love your ideas, I love reading them, I love imagining my own...

I'd like to see those LED lights on the underside of the monorial track inside Epcot. Can you imagine the track lit up at night... now that would be cool!!!

Sorry, been a bit busy! (Finals this week, ICK)

Overall, I think it's great...It could really bring the WoM building and concept into the future. It's certainly do-able.

Awesome, and there is plenty of electricity there they could tap in to.

It would be incredible!

That idea has been mentioned many times on these boards, by my self and others!:D

Most likely because of this:

A nice homage, no?

Thanks, I thought you were not responding because of my Pixar "Cars Talk" idea. I love that title if I do say so myself. There is a TV show called "Car Talk" and well, cars talk, as in the cars are talking and "Cars" is the name of the movie. Sorry, a bit of a tangent there.

Thanks! Hope you do well on your studies.

 Not at all....It's a good idea to keep EPCOT, EPCOT while integrating the characters. Very 1994 of you.:D

And, thanks!
