There's no way the money is going toward a new Imagination. It would probably only cost a million to finish the descent, and over 100 million to bring Dreamfinder back. If anything the money will be used to remove the canopy in Innoventions, or take out Leave a Legacy. I think we all need to start a campaign directed at Disney and Siemens telling them how much we disapprove of what they did to Epcot's iconic attraction.

While its annoying to me that they're putting off finishing this descent, if the trade off is that we get a quality imagination back then I'm willing to make that knowing that hopefully we'll see that descent finished before too long.
I hope so, but I don't think that JII is equal to the decent, cost wise. See the next quote...

Right. At least we will have a cleaner, clearer EPCOT.

There's no way that there is a million dollars worth of work left in SSE (which just proves your point even more)

Yeah, I figured I was overestimating. Here's an interesting discussion topic- What if the cost of completing the descent was exactly the same amount that it took to take down the wand? Would we be happier if the wand was still here but the descent was completed? I think I would.

Kills me to say it, but true. Good show is good show. I can live with crappy aesthetics.:lookaroun

Wand demolition HANDS DOWN. I could live with the descent AS IS. I liked it when I rode it during previews, and I like it now...I just wish those pesky curtains would come down and the triangles would do something.

The Wand ruined the look, the message, and the feel of EPCOT. Save the cheap icons and identity crisis for DHS.

Dosn`t need to. Imag is being funded separately.

Thanks :D You`re the first one to see that little addition to my sig ;)

Good. Kodak is giving up a lot, from what I have heard.

And your Back to Back TR's are going to be interesting. What makde you add another?

I know, I know. But hear me out. If we had a EPCOT Center style Epcot back in our hands, with attractions that paid past respects to old ones and with old ones updated, and perfect aesthetics, save for one crappy wand over SSE, I would be happy. No lie.

The Wand sucks, I know, if it meant being the only thing wrong in EPCOT, it's OK with me.

Then why did you say, "You sure about that?" when I said that there's no way the money being used for the descent is going toward Imagination?

As for the whole wand thing, IMO the spirit and tone of Epcot represented in the old Spaceship Earth is more important than the aesthetic of Epcot, which to this day is still a mess even without the wand.

but the one crappy wand over SSE is *theoretically* the first and last thing you'll see. It cheapens the whole experience...just like the BAH. For the park to move forward, it needed to come down...thank the Greeks and their intriguing new subject called mathematics for allowing it to be possible.;)

Phoenicians?:lookaroun:lol:

Either way, what's done is done. This debate is moot anyway. And yeah...I know exactly what you mean.;)

Having a jibjab cartoon play in the park's signature attraction also cheapens the experience. And the Leave a Legacy tombstones are still the last thing you see. I understand your position, but I really think the problems caused by the wand are still present in other incarnations.

Depends on if you are a fanboi or regular guest. The interactivity of the end makes the attraction enjoyable for everyone, and if it gets them to ride it again, maybe, just maybe some of the "boring, educational, though-provoking stuff" will sink in.

My point about the Wand is this, it needed to go to move forward. LaL is probably next and the purple tarps along with them. Imagination...

As the Joker would say, "It's all part of the plan"

I've got no problem with the ending being interactive, but the black curtains, inconsistent triangles, and the art direction of the video are all just as cheesy as the wand. The park has not moved forward with the removal of the wand. We've just traded one evil for another.

Oh, but it would have been so easy to do both...

And the plan better work. It has the potential to.

But, as Han Solo would say..."I have a bad feeling about this..."

In the sense of setting a better stage and mood for the park visually it has.

It appears I contrdicted myself before.

But I agree with you on the evil trading.:lookaroun
