Bob Zalk and that lady were the imagineers behind the Mission:Space fiasco and work directly under Tom Fitzgerald. All three of which champion more screen technology and video projections in the parks.

I cannot express enough to not listen to rumor mongering. The version that opened in 2007 is the version they greenlit. They were so sure people would be jumping up and down to play with touchscreens and look at cheap flash animations that nobody would care about AA's, epic music, sophistication, etc. that were in the previous 3 versions of the attraction.

And that is why they should be fired and a new generation of Imagineers hopefully led by Tony Baxter will set things right.

Not quite.
The version that opened in 2007 and will be finished in 2009 is what was greenlit. The things that are still being added were planned all along to be phased in over time.

Good to hear you say that! (again:lol:)

My question...Why don't they just close it for a few weeks, get all this done with and FINALLY BE DONE WITH IT. It's been over a year since it opened.

No kidding it's good to hear. I was getting tired of riding SSE over and over and just zoning out while going backwards. It will be nice to actually see something worthwhile to close out that attraction again :)

I keep picturing a lone Imagineer building props in his garage and installing them in the descent during his off hours because he just can't stand to leave it "as is".

God Bless that lone imagineer. :)

IF they do do add anything it wont be of substance. They aren't going to close the ride again for any length of time to add scenes or anythign like that. This notion that the ending will be a new age version of the iconic cronkite version with Tomorrow's Child sounds like fanboy dreaming that has no basis in fact.

Of course don't get me wrong. The more they add stuff the better and if by some miracle they do add tomorrow's child and do something with the descent tunnel I will be the first person there shoving people out of the way to take a gander.

memorial day is always fun :dazzle:

Which would be great, as my next trip is about 10 days after Memorial Day. :)

(And if the new descent opens that close to my trip, I know I'll be able to keep from watching video of it online, whereas a March opening would be just WAAAYYY too long. ;)
