65 YEARS AGO TODAY.
THE SURVIVING VETS ARE ALMOST ALL GONE. PLEASE SAY A PRAYER FOR THEM.

Will do.
I know the more recent movie isn't all that good, but the bombing scene really makes you think about what happened that day...how one would react...etc...:(

I'm sure it was a scary day for all involved.

Thanks Rich...that is very needed.

I wasn't around for it...but I've heard about it from my grandfather...and it will never be forgotten.

Thanks Rich - my mom used to tell us how frightening it all was, and I never really had an appreciation for that 'til 9/11. :(

My great uncle fought in both Normandy and Iwo Jima and tells me sometimes how horrific it was. It only makes me thankful for the freedom we have and the price that had to be paid for it.

My dad was a WWII Navy Veteran who passed away six years ago this week. When I was younger, I was bored to tears by his tales of the war. Now I look back on them fondly and I'm grateful for the history lessons he shared with us, and for teaching us to not take for granted our safety, security, and comfort. Thanks for giving me a minute to remember him.

My Dad was also a WWII Vet who passed away six years ago.
He, too, told his "stories" over and over as I was growing up. It wasn't until after he was gone that I came to appreciate what he and so many others had done for this country.
Thanks Dad!
And thanks for sharing your stories!
